Thieves Caches?

I keep finding these things (probably about 10 so far) and I'm only at about level 10 on this character (and have figured out to never open them anywhere near anybody!).

I'm assuming I can sell this junk at my local thieves den, yes?

As a mage, it wasn't my intention to become a thief, but, hey, if I can keep getting all this gold on a regular basis, I'm not going to complain (and no, I haven't taked to the TG contact yet - I'm still on Bleakrock).

I am guessing that this is something new with the DLC.

My question is, those falsified docs that let me get off scott free, are they worth keeping?

Yes, you can fence or launder the items at your local Outlaws Refuge.

Yes, the edicts are worth keeping, in my opinion, if you're going to continue your life of crime and debauchery. Quite handy if you don't feel like/have the gold for paying off your bounty.

Well... I don't know about the crime, but I can always get behind a good debauchery session! :)

    Thank you,

Quickslot a Pardon before you engage in your more risky crime spree. Get caught, pop a Pardon and your all set to go.

Note, sometimes in these containers you get a Large Stolen Shipment, don't open that around any NPCs either. Your safe in the Refuge or out in the woods, but not in town, unless your hidden some where.

Do launder the Pardons so some guard will not take them from you if you get caught. Also, the Troves all spawn in the same places, so once you learn where a few are, make note of that as they will respawn there again, eventually.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

    Interesting.

By launder, I'm assuming you mean sell them and buy them back at one of the Outlaw Refuge.

Thanks for the tip on the spawns. I remember where they are on Bleakrock and now in outer Morrowind (10 total at this point), so I'll need to go back and check.

Fences don't sell items, so the Sell option in their vendor menu is replaced with Launder. The difference is you get the items back in a "clean" state (nobody knows they were stolen) by laundering/paying the listed launder fee, whereas you just get gold for the fenced items and they're gone forever - poof. Typically you launder items like rarer style mats and utility items (Polished Shillings, Tainted Blood, the pardon edicts, etc.) and fence treasures.
