Character creation

Hey there,

just a quickie ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Would anyone else appreciate either a character preview under different light conditions before actually creating a character or removal of the deletion limit?

Creating characters in ESO is tricky, there's a time limit that kicks you if you spend too much time in the creation process and some of us spend a ridiculous time creating our characters. More so in ESO where the characters looks the same unless you find the right sliding bar combo. And when you finally think you found the look you were going for, you log into the game only to find out that under different camera angle, it looks complety different.

I get why the deletion limit is in the game (to avoid gold sellers), but maybe it could get removed after an ingame achievement like 100 quets completed or something?

Creating a new character in ESO is a week long quest for me due to the limit T_T

As work around you can go to pts, and make screenshots of your settings before you create a character. On pts you don't have the deletion limit, so you can test as much as you want.

Good to know, but downloading another 80gb is a stretch just to help with character creation ^^
Also. I'm always at war with free diks space.

for sure this is a great idea, ZOS should add at least two options for light (darker character creation screen, lighter one) and then a least one for outdoors. I am totally for that!!!

I have never had a character look the same in character creation as it had in either the game world (no matter the lighting) or character selection screen. Frustrating, but I just plan on deleting a few dissatisfying characters (due to misrepresented appearance) whenever I trial a new look. I take video and screenshots of all my settings (and in game results of said creation) nearly every time I do so, just to be able to come back and make some minor adjustments that are not displayed in character creation. I don't know what the real problem is, but I'm not convinced that different lighting options would help me. I would appreciate these options, but I also hope they look into other possible reasons why this happens.

FWIW I'm currently on PS4, but I had similar problems on PC before I transferred.

Exactly, it never looks like in the character creation menu.
By a preview under different lightning conditions I meant to actually control the character and camera (like ingame). Maybe having a small 5x5 meter island where one could switch between night and day with a torch in the middle or something like that. Though being able to delete the character without restriction would solve it all ^^

This is the whole reason ppl want the character customization but freaking silly ZOS is using the feature wrong and then charging real money for it.

I doubt I'll even use it cause the problem is the environment character creation is done under and it seems the game is seperate from the creator so even still we end up with different results.

The PTS suggestion kinda is a bit silly because you can't save and import the sliders and I'm personally not going to screenshot all of that just to try and match it up when the larger complaints have been the creator

That's just my point of view. Address the issue and resolve it, don't figure out a way to charge me without addressing the issues

HA check this out, the character creator is even at an odd angle leading to everything looking off. Yesterday I did a thread about how I was almost positive the default eyebrow skew option was not straight, but it turns out the whole upper torso and face are not straight. It has nothing to do with the eyebrow skew option and I am almost positive now that the default is set up straight, but since the whole body is at and angle it makes weird height differences.

See that gap by the shoulder? That line goes from the top of one shoulder across and then way over the top of the other, proving I think once and for all that the character is at an odd angle. Several lines here show that the body is not straight. I know the face lines are way to small for you to see, but take my word for it everything is off. I think zos should go in and fix this odd stance your character is standing in and straighten it out so it is easier to make your character look right. I know for me personally it has caused a huge confusion when I am looking at the eyebrow skew option and being unable to figure out when its properly straight.

It is only in the character creation and character selection though, check this out!

This is an in game shot of my character and as you can see the face is MUCH straighter, if not perfectly. That line goes clear across from 1 brow to the other with no height difference. So I don't think it is a lighting issue so much as it is you can't see how your character will look standing straight. Lighting does play a factor though, I have no doubt. Like in the creation screen things will look thicker or thinner then they actually are due to the lighting obscuring the real angles and depths on things.

Tl;dr the character creation is at an angle. Zos should fix this, so we can make characters easier and not have to delete them constantly to fix stupid mistakes that would couldn't perceive in the creation.

Actually the fact that everything is not perfectly symmetrical is a good thing. Nothing in real life is and once you create something symmetrical it looks strange.

Check out this page, it's a good example, they just look strange when symmetrical:

Its a preference, I like things symmetrical way more. It is symmetrical in this game though, its just that in character creation your dude/lady is leaning to the left or something and it makes the right side higher then the left.
