Rugz's ESO Wishlist
Hi everyone,
First of all, I want to say that I love this game. From the very first moment I logged in, I knew. There is a way the game moves and behaves that is invigorating. It reminds me of playing Halo 2 back in the day. There is a very powerful sense that the game is alive and evolving. It isn't finished, and that is what excites me.
As someone who has decided to invest a lot of time into this game, I wanted to send some thoughts out to the stellar development team. Take them or leave them, I just felt the need to put them forward.

Here is my ESO Wishlist.
- A continual review of pet mechanics. I think the single biggest obstacle to people using their Sorc pets regularly is the how confusing and unresponsive the command pet function is. The current system of the pets locks out stealth gameplay (although it has gotten better, you still can't enter stealth if a pet is aggroed), single target dps, controlled off-tanking, and makes pets very unreliable in PVP. For the ease of Console and PC users, I'd like it if the Command Pet function operated like this: If you had no target and hit command pet, the pets actively de aggro and fall inline behind you until they are attacked or you give them another command. If you have a target and hit command pet, the pets attack that target and ignore other targets.
- Revamped Sewers. I've been having a lot of fun with the changes to the districts but I miss being in the sewers these days. I can make upwards of 6k Tel Var in 15 minutes top side and...don't really have an incentive to go down anymore. The districts now have a clear incentive and playstyle but the sewers now seem forgotten. I'd suggest some sort of combo of increasing the average Tel Var, difficulty of sewers mobs, or adding other incentives so that topside has easier mobs and potentially better farming where sewers is a bit more reliable and PvE oriented. I want it to have a clear purpose again.
- A Werewolf Taunt. I say this simply because it would be awesome. You guys mentioned yourselves that there weren't enough tanks. So, let's give tanks some cool novelty playstyles! Obviously if there was a way to make a Werewolf tank, it would have to be niche and it couldn't be the top tanking build out there but pugging through normal dungeons and the easier Vet dungeons as a Werewolf tank would be fun. We just need a taunt. Now I don't really care if a skill is changed to facilitate this (maybe a morph of the leap or howl?) or it is attributed to an Item Set like Tormentor, but it would be fun!
- Continue adding Veteran versions of the original dungeons. I haven't been on the PTS and I'm sure the Shadows of The Hist dungeons are amazing, but I would like to eventually see a Veteran version of Blackheart Haven more than anything else. Also, thanks a lot for updating the Craglorn content! Woo hoo!
- Continued Revising of underused/underperforming skills. There have been some major combat balances in the last 6 months and the results are pretty incredible. I actually made myself a Magicka Sorc just so I could experiment with tanking with Dark Exchange. There weren't any revisions proposed in Shadows of the Hist outside of racial balance which is fine and the barber shop is going to keep ESO financially viable, but from the player-side, I'm sure more of us have made Argonians than have ever considered skilling Crystal Blast.
- Deadric Artifacts. I don't know how you'd implement this, and over time we have seen more and more of them, including the Blade of Woe and the Ebony Blade but this is something I'd delight to see more of.
- Hermeaus Mora. Hermeaus Mora for President.
- A review of the Status Quo of Capped Resistances and Uncapped Damage. Sypher touched on this idea in a recent video the other day and it's something I've though for quite awhile as well. Something in this should change, whether it's having each point of resistance being worth more damage reduction (so 33150 resistance = 60% or some such), removing the resistance cap, reducing the overall scaling of WPD/SPD on abilities (closing the dps gap from bottom end to top end), diminished returns on WPD/SPD stacking, or ensuring that super-high DPS builds can run out of resources. I do think that something has to be done. It feels like a status quo even if the game does feel more balanced these days.
Thanks for reading!
