Would having 2h weapons count for 2 item set bonuses be op?

Big swords, staves, and the like. What was the logic behind them not counting for two item slots?

    IMO the dual wield at the moment are OP.. two weps already giving you more damage and you get 2pc bonuses on top of that, and dual wield has better skills/passives... In pve, I don't think 2h can ever out dps a dual wield?

    In PvE, Magicka builds run staves which are a type of 2H'er. I believe it would boost overall DPS in Magicka/ranged builds in PvE but probably not help Melee builds as Rapid Strikes is such a requirement with vMA weapons.

    In a pure pvp perspective , if they did they they'd have to nerf to the 2h skill line.

    2h skills + passives are by far better than the dw ones.

    Yes, it'd be OP. Not super duper world endingly OP (I don't think), but enough that there would need to be some sort of nerf to counterbalance and address issues that would inevitably come up as a result.

    From design perspective there is not really an impact since armor and jewelery fulfill requirements for sets including one weapon. That means 1 Set of 5 and 2 of 3 or 2 sets of 5 are always possible with 11 slots.

    The 12th is a nice to have but not really a required slot especially not when comparing efficiency of 2H abilities with dual wield and sword and board abilities.

    I would support any kind of re-balancing that eliminates the stupidity that is magicka users being pressured into using duel wield.
    End the tedious inventory management game.

    I have never had an issue with it. Seems logical this way. I feel that is part of what makes Dual Wield strong.

    2H has fantastic, well-rounded actives and especially passive skills in PvP. PvE Dual Wield DPS is better due to the inherent weapon damage boost (and Cruel Flurry).

    Honestly idk....... never been something I considered before. It's no big deal.

    2 handed provides either resources for kills or in terms of Stam characters in Pvp the best weapon class heals and easiest kill combos (two dizzying swings and two executioners) in the game.

    You won't see many non gank builds run dual wield because of the lack of those abilities.

    In saying that we desperately need dual wield spectral daggers or something of the sort for magicka builds... Parallel to Stam dual wield without scaling light attacks to stamina. Massive over sight I say.

    But in general if things are to stay as is, one weapon should equal one slot.

    I would disagree. I believe the skill line offers better utility, and the passives over better resource management. The DW skill tree, and passives is by far superior as far as pure damage goes. This is why a lot of Sorcs and DKs dual wield; it's because they have a class major brutality. If it weren't for Rally I don't think anyone would use the weapon since it's such a handicap on your damage output.

    My primary is 2H (greatsword), and I can't see the logic of it being counted as 2 bonus slots. Even though it's 2H, it's only one piece of item.

    Logically and 4th wall breakingly speaking, your hands aren't the things that provide the bonuses. What's IN your hands do/does. So, a shield and a sword in each hand, the items themselves are what give the individual bonuses. Having both hands holding onto a large weapon still means that you only have 1 weapon.

    Would it be OP as far as within the bounds of the 4 walls? There are far too many good arguments both for and against that stance, all perfectly valid AND debatable at the same time, to declare for one or the other being absolute fact. Still wouldn't make sense though, even within the "4 walls".

    How do you rationalize the fact that you hit harder swinging a weapon with one hand, than swinging it with two hands? Or the fact that some how my one handed sword is only half as sharp as my greatsword? In a game where you restore stamina by performing a heavy attack; I think we can rationalize having a 2H weapon count as two pieces of an item set.
