Reported about 10 tonight at Bangkorai spot and found 1 with an actual friend who wasn't a bot - reported him because that's suspicious.

Funny one bot actually has video capture of his own botting

Anyone think anything will be done or did I waste my time?

That reminds me about SWTOR and Ord Mantell heroic area with suspicious characters, probably bots (due to their names and overall look) attacking mobs spawning there.

Is it really possible to have these in eso too?

Posting a video might be considered naming and shaming so i am going to refrain from doing that, but I do have something of use for ZoS.

Reports have been made and hopefully they will look into it. I'll give a rundown of why I'm suspicious:

Each player has a randomly generated xbox tag which was changed shortly after to another random tag similar to the other botters

Each player has a character name like "djdbdbsuu"

Each player has the same achievements

Each player is following only xbox and elder scrolls online in their friends list (with the exception of one which is likely the main)

Each player follows the same farm path and when back to start, crouches in the same position as where the other bots are

I make a real world living observing what is around me. This was pretty cut and dry and I'm pretty sure any sensible person would come to the same conclusion as I did.

Could you tell the location where you seen the bots?
I am constantly reporting bots at PC so it is always helpful for me to know their locations.

Northeast side of the map is a wayshrine. Go south to the village hidden through a cave. There are cp150 wolves and werewolves that spawn very very frequently there.

You just told em what to do to be even more hidden mate...

Now instead of 10 on the same spot they will be 2.

This is why these kind of forum posts are more bad than good I am afraid.

Keep it to the reports and don't teach them how to perfect their wicked ways...

Everyone and their mother (as well as people botting) know how to spot them. These posts are raising awareness that this kind of bs is now on consoles as well.
It's not up to the paying customer to keep an eye out for bots and secretly report to ZOS, it's up to the developer to come up with a better anti-bot code so we don't have to report more bots than we complete quests.

Its a programmable arduino controller with a "twitch" mechanisim so it seems like humsns are playing basically another program that flivks the thumb stick in multiple random directions. They cant detect or stop this with out innocent players getting banned

This is not multiple random directions. These players have a very distinct route. Hopefully they look into this.

Reporting any suspected botting is helpful. You can do so either in-game or via our Support portal here on the site.

You can also send anyone on the Community Team (Gina, Kai, or I) any video footage or screenshots you have that show the character names and/or gamertags, and we'll get that info into the right hands.

Not sure if it is bots, but most likely it is multiple people working for a few cents a day to feed their families. It's called gold farming and has been around since the dawn of MMO's. Look for an increase in this behavior since the game has opened up to new markets.

ZOS can monitor this behavior and potentially reduce the number by keeping tabs on large gold transfers between players.

Quite sure you can't bot on Xbox since you'd need a jtag to run third party programs and jtags have been banned as soon as they're brought online + Pursued with legal actions. So what does that mean exactly well I saw someone mention a controller doing that, I've never heard of a controller doing a set path and set commands before and would love to know how they came about that information.

Don't get me wrong cheaters exist everywhere and back when Jtags were a thing if you played Halo 3 in those days well....yeah you'd know or even call of duty with those aim bots lol..

People who think that botting cannot be done on console, are not thinking enough.

A perfect example is the birth of electronic trading on the stock market. Don't worry, this will be really short, because it really is not complicated. The part that applies to bots on console is just TWO sentences.

1 - Stock market managers begin to allow 'direct trading' - you get one of their special computers and type in what you want.
2 - Guy realizes that piles of cash can be acquired if he runs the trading super fast, so he signs up and gets one of their special computers, cuts the keyboard off, then splices the wires into a second computer - which is programmed to do buy/sell trades for pennies of profit per trade, stacking up large piles of cash.

    Important part was bolded.

These days, no need to cut wires because the controller is wireless. These farming areas, it's not like the nodes are separated by a tightrope that requires an exact path, so the bot can be programmed to randomly insert a bit of veering left and then a compensating veering right to always arrive at the desired location. And the crude image comparison technology was good enough twenty years ago that my then-alive grandmother's video camera (it recorded on vhs tapes!) could wait until something happened in front of the lens and then start recording. Nowadays, wildlife cameras you can buy for $40 at the sporting goods department of walmart are even better, not to mention the smartphone in people's hands is capable of detecting faces and targeting that as the place to focus. So it is very within the capabilities of a laptop to do periodic "Screen should look similar to A at stage 1 of the loop, should look similar B at stage 2..." checks.

Seriously, anyone who thinks botting can't be done on console is not thinking creatively enough.

Wrong. Zos is not handing us our entertainment on a platter, we are participants in our fun. And as participants, we are also morally obligated to assist in maintaining the integrity of the system. You can sit back and be silent about bots that have slipped past Zos, but if you do that then you have no standing to complain that there are bots that have slipped past Zos.

If you are going to play in the playground, then it's also on you to call out a 'heads up' if you see something sharp that will pop the ball. If you keep your mouth shut, then you can't *** and moan that the ball got popped.

Can't make it any more simple than that.
