Hew's Bane already dead

Hello ZOS.

Your strategy of implementing another motifs as a reason to remain in Hew's bane failed.

The world is basically Group-finding wise as dead as Craglorn is or worse. World Boss groups are very difficult to find. I am talking about the EU server, i have no idea how it is on the US-Server.

Anyway. Please do not apply the same strategy 4 times. With Wrothgar you actually created an amazing PvE zone, for Matfarming and all the other stuff to do, but Hew's bane was doomed from the beginning because a lot of the Motif farmers are either still on the motifs from Wrothgar OR they (like me) gave up because you implement them so fast you can't actually keep up and start making a buissness of selling your styles because you are constantly farming styles instead of selling Armor.

Sometimes less is more and just keep implementing content after content after content, well no idea if this is nescessary.

Please make the Sets more accesible (higher drop rate) for those who actually go there for those sets and if possible find another motivator to stay in a zone than the motif farming. This will not be a long term fun thing if you keep implementing motives faster than people can actually get it.

    If that is like this... the Addon has now more close to 6 months... why is it not fixed ?

    I'm not sure... @ZOS_JessicaFolsom are the drop rates for the Outlaws Motif still bugged or were they fixed? :smile:

    Im not disagreeing with you but Hews Bane is amazing for matfarming. Hews Bane > Wrothgar imo (for matfarming)

    I disagree.

    I was just in there last night farming Mats and Motif Pages. IMO, there's no better zone to farm mats.

    In the three or four hours I was running around, I saw plenty of other people. Some were Questing, others were trying to kill the World Bosses. Others were farming just like I was.

    Hew's Bane is far from "dead".

    Joined game ~month ago (after 1,5+ years away from ESO) and... dunno what about drop rates, but never had problems with world boss groups in Hew's Bane. But I dont like this map itself ^^ Its cute and all, but I'm just not into desserts xD

    I like Hew's Bane. I like the scenery. It's good to go back and visit now and then to mine ores and harvest mats, but yes, you're right.. it could use something more to spruce it up.. maybe some additional quests to continue on from where it left off. The ending, although it was fine to choose whether to kill the guy or not (oh, oops, spoiler for those haven't complete the Thieves' Guild quest yet) was a bit eeh. Maybe a big ending battle scene or betrayal within the rank and someone new takes the reign as the guildmaster or something. Add a couple dolmens.. yeah, that's it!

    I have yet to get a motif page from the delve bosses, after 6-8 kills. I've gotten a page from almost every world boss kill as long as I did enough damage to it. So there may be something funky with the drop rates for delve bosses, unless it's supposed to just be harder to get those pages. Seems kind of like double-dipping on the challenge though since you already have to go through more work just to get to the delve bosses in the first place.

    Yeah the Bosses are ok, but i do not want the pages, i want the sets, and those are one of the worst RNG drops so far

    Ok so we have to distinguish here - are you complaining about Motif drop rates in Hew's Bane or that Hew's Bane is empty? It seems like you're more just upset that you don't have all the motifs and can't find groups for the bosses.

    That being said, Hew's Bane is definitely becoming more empty and it's sad because the area is fantastic. The same can be said for the Gold Coast which has had a notable drop-off as people finished the Dark Brotherhood quests.

    One of the reasons Wrothgar is more populated is because their dailies are actually hard to get complete motifs than Hew's Bane (barring Abah's Watch Motif). I think you have that reasoning inverted. They Malacath and Ancient Orc (if you're not strong enough) both require group play and Malacath can only be done 6 times a day which keeps people coming back. In comparison Outlaw can be run until it's completed for as long as you want. If the Outlaw daily was changed to the quest share system in Wrothgar it would create a fuller zone for peak times. Trinimac doesn't contribute to making Wrothgar full because it's a once off quick delve run.

    Baring in mind that Wrothgar becomes much more of a ghost town after people have gotten the 6 boss dailies in the peak hours.

    But let's talk solutions to fixing the population problem on Hew's Bane (something which will get exponential with future DLCs).

    1. What I'd like to see them do is restrict the Maw access to Hew's Bane so that it can become more of a calling zone for the Trial. Finding groups for Maw is a mess and it could be one solution to move access there exclusively.

    2. Add player housing to Hew's Bane.

    3. Change the Outlaw motif drops to be daily quest rewards so that it requires boss calling similar to Wrothgar Malacath motif.

    4. Add a group trial for the Ra Gada motif, but make it a tomb that you can rob as a group that requires something unseen before... Coordinated thievery. Sneaking together in different directions with timers for various stages. Like Heists but on a bigger group scale.

    That will improve the longevity of Hew's Bane quite dramatically.

    For the past few months I've been avoiding Hew's Bane like the plague because of lag, but I've tweaked a few things on my machine so it's better now, might return for the world bosses and mat farming.
