PS4: Disappearing Surveys?

Ladies and gentlemen:

Has this happened to anyone else recently on the PS4? I just had the Clothier II survey for Wrothgar vanish from my inventory without the rich plants showing up to be harvested. I was right in the survey area, too, and they never popped ... but the survey vanished nonetheless.

This occurred once or twice when I played ESO on the PC/Mac, but not until now on the PS4.

I had this happen a single time as well.

As you get in the survey's radius it dissapears from your inventory. I just moved on to my next survey. Only had this happen once but never reported it.

Yes that happened once or twice for me on PS4 as well. It hasn't happened to me for a couple of months though.

I've had this happen several times with that exact same survey. ZOS support said there was nothing they could do except /bug report it (and I did). I've lost 3 of them so far. They tend to vanish after I use a wayshrine.

This was their solution to the banker survey exploit I believe, they dissappear when you get close to the location.
When it disappears you have some time to find the location, get on youtube if you're not sure where to look.

Yes it happened to me this evening on ps4 i was at the spotno nodes no survey in inventory. It was meant to correct wih db update only clothier 2 none of the others were doing it

Happened to me twice in a row with the same survey you're talking about. Yesterday I got it again and instead of grabbing things on my way (nodes, treasure chests, etc.), I just went straight to it.

I think the problem with this one is if you grab nodes just on the other side of the big rock from the survey, then you may be within the radius of the survey. Then you unfortunately leave the radius to get to the actual survey.

So as a workaround I suggest you just go straight to the survey from the wayshrine. If you don't know exactly where it is watch a youtube video to ensure you aren't going to do it to yourself again.

As said above, this was a bandaid fix for the banker exploit.

The "Banker" fix was to remove the survey from your inventory as soon as you got near the survey. They fixed the fix, so that now, the map should only go away once you have harvested the first node. I have tested extensively on the PC with multiple maps for the same location. I have been able to stand on the survey spot and open a map for the same spot, then run away to being out of line of sight, then go back and the survey is there. I wonder if this fix of the fix has reached the consoles yet?

So, if the survey seems to disappear on you with multiple maps like I described above, run a short distance away until you can no longer see the survey location (other side of a hill can be enough to give you this) and then go back and see if the survey is there.

When approaching the survey for the first time, make sure you use the map in your inventory before you get to the survey location so the game will activate the survey. I have noticed in the past, the survey does not always show up unless you activate (use the map so you can see the location), so that is why I suggest you open the map before you get to the location.

This occurred after the banker survey exploit was fixed. That's what makes it odd and, judging from other comments on this thread, it's an ongoing — or new — issue.

If I get the survey again, I'll go straight to it after the way shrine. It'll be hard ignoring those undulating, glowing nodes preceding the survey, but it's for the greater good!

Wrothgar Clothier Survey II is already known as broken. This is not the first report on it. I should know because I reported it myself awhile back lol

If you get this Survey, best thing to do is bank it and save it for the day it works. In the event of multiple copies have alts hold them. If you do not wish to save them for the day they work, then get rid of them if you wish. This is the only survey I know of that is broken though so do the others lol
