Marksman Set

I managed to get 5 prices of the set, and even though people say it looks bloated, I quite like the way it looks when dyed up.

Anyone else use this set? How useful is it in pve? That stam regen is quite good, but it lacks a special effect in pve in my opinion.

In my opinion it's a great set for Archers. Unfortunately, many people believe Archery is not something to main...

i tried running it on my stam sorc, for the reduce cost as a 2nd set on my dual weild bar (with jewelry)

it was OK, but when it came to vet dungeons i wasnt pulling my weight (no critisism from others guilies/mates just how i felt)

the regen was great, but because i was just trying the set i only did purple WD glyphs so this could account for the loss of DPS

it is definatley worth trying, esp if you need the recovery & are comfortable with your damge

@UltimaJoe777 @puffytheslayer thanks I only got it last night I'll see how it goes. The bows currently on my 2nd bar, but I find myself using it a lot recently so may main it for a while.

Marksman & Eagle Eye is fantastic for bow gank builds OP , although some argue that hundings, marksman is better...

Marksman is great regen set in pvp. I run it with 4 piece morag tong on my stam blade and alongside 5 morag tong on my stam dk.

Not so useful in pve!

It's a PvP set. It's terrible for PvE, why would you even consider that or Leki for PvE?

Bow is my main weapon ^^ However, I use Dreungh King Slayer + Ethernal Hunt.
But sometimes, its just Marksman (5) + Morkuldin (5) and run around like a hoe and spam Bombard+LA non-stop Not very effective (since weapon damage is only 1.4k (and 70% crit unpotioned, lol)), but funny.
Since people really like Marksman, I'm not into pvp except when I want gather some ap and get a bit closer to Caltrops.
DKS gives some vitality (via its heavy armor, lol) and lots of damage, and its good for archers since we're lack on damage.
And sometimes its just Night Mother's Gaze + something for stam regen + sharp crushing bow + Focused Aim spam.

I'm currently using 5 hundings, 5 marksman and 1 Kena in pvp and I 1vX'd a few players with just my bow there a few days ago, grand I got the drop on 1 of them because he was on siege but with the right combo even a dark elf dragonknight can run bow

Maybe, I suppose the stam regen appealed to me, which I struggled with a bit before, but def noticable when I wore it last night. I've 5 peice hundings as well btw.

I just started using 5pc hawk eye and 5pc hunding's rage. So far I like the set up. I'm working on getting. 5pc set of marksman to kind of play around with some combos. Has anyone tried 5pch hawkeye and marksman?

I use an Impen version of this set on my stamblade in PvP. Much better sets to go after in pve than this one IMHO.

It wasn't designed to be a PVE set, that's why it is missing that "special effect" your talking about. The style for this set is Abah's Watch and looks pretty good. I am running a 5 Marksman with 1 Kena and 5 Viper as well on my Bowplar trying them out. It's a pretty fun build for sure as it's strictly ranged damage.

I've been using it on my NB and I feel that the 8% damage to bow abilities isn't worth it, but the other set bonuses are okay. I still think there are better sets though...

It's a shame because I'd like it if bows were competitive, like if they actually did decent damage with light/med/heavy attacks rather than just relying on their abilities to do some damage with a bow.

In PVE, it is trash. Why do you need that much regen in PVE? I suppose it might have some niche uses with soloing and VMA, but definitely not my first choice. I suppose it could also act as a much cheaper substitute for agility jewelry. I could prob be used if going for a straight bow build, but my guess is the old meta of Hawk Eye/Morag Tong is better for that. Could be wrong though. For anything resembling the current Meta/BIS type builds, this has no place on a DPS in group PVE content.

In PVP, I LOVE this freaking set. I have recently been doing 5 marksmen, 3 agility, 2 bloodspawn, and VMA 2h/Bow on my stam DK and I NEVER run out of resources. It's pretty great.

If you actually need that much regen in PvE, there's always Eternal Hunt... But, I mean, really, you don't.

Why bother wearing sets at all then in PvE, I mean if I really don't need that much regen? What do other sets offer that I DO need in PvE as stamblade?

I don't have a problem with health as I kill things reasonably quick, although granted I've not done maelstrom yet!

Not being funny, serious question!

Take a look at the Vicious Ophidian set from Sanctum Ophidia. I run it and it's pretty nice for pve.

If you're DPSing, you need to output as much damage as possible, so regen is not really that important. Only for Solo stuff like vMSA

Max Stamina, Weapon Damage and Crit Chance + Damage are most important for Trials and Dungeons. That's why most ppl prefer Hundings or TBS as their main set

Also, what exactly does 5% for Hawk's Eye, and 8% for Marksman equate to in weapon damage? Does anybody have that calculation?

Pve it's not so good but pvp I like it.
On my stamblade I use: 5 eternal, 5 marksmen, 1 molag kena. All weapon damage enchants. Can use food with this setup as recovery is very high.
