One-handed Ranged and/or Magicka Weapons?

Just as the title suggests - Can we get some more variety in this department somewhere down the line?

    I'm all for variety, though the last time one of these threads popped up (a couple weeks ago) it just burned in a fiery pit of rage about how it would make stamina and magic classes too similar (which I don't understand)

    I don't see it either really. If anything, in comparison, they are more similar now since you have magicka builds dual wielding weapons just for the spell damage. They look no different from the stamina build standing next to them.

    why not do a spellblade weapon for melee magicka builds like dks and templars and some nightblades and cut the stats duel wield gives you in half so its balanced

    Because of how the weapon system works in ESO, a new weapon skill line would require either a completely new 2h weapon or a new off-hand object. The simplest way would probably be a new off-hand object. I'd suggest an orb or wand made with woodworking (since smithing already has plenty of items it can make).

    I would love to see a few weapons added based on magicka... especially a couple melee weapons..

    In addition, add a new ranged stamina weapon...

    consider that there are 4 magicka weapons (3 destro staves and 1 resto staff) and 4 stam weapons (2H, DW, S/B, Bow)

    The problem of a new magicka based weapon in this case is the combination. So, that wand combined with a sword, axe, dagger or mace is DW? Has his own line? What about a wand and a shield? Does it benefit from the S/B line? And if I want to go with 2 wands, does it fall into the wand line or the DW line?

    That's the same in the case of a 1 handed Xbow.

    Instead of asking for new weapons, we should ask for new skills in the current weapon lines.

    That's 10% right. We do need new skills in the current skill lines. But if they did end up making crossbows or wands, you could make it so they could only have a specific offhand, and not just any other weapon choice out there.

    Or give melee weapon users the option to infuse their melee weapon with magic, causing their light and heavy attacks to become ranged with a X% damage reduction.

    I would be glad to see spellcrafting which would allows to use spells with combinations of any weapons.
