Give me back my dark cloak

There once was a time when a nb could stare right at a coldfire balista and say try me ***. Those times are now gone and cloak is useless, doesn't even work half of the time.
It was such a good skill and one of the best survivabillty skills stam nbs had. No competitive nightblades use cloak anymore because its USELESS.
So please ZOS gimme back my dark cloak.

The fact that it's broken, it needs to be fixed. Nerfing it to please others is another story, but for now it is not working as intended.

Today a NB tried to cloak my dizzying swing (with basiclly no lag on the server, early morning). He got hit while he was invisible (whut??) and then executed. True story.

Cloak OP, nerf please.

Well I don't know if it's supposed to halt DoT or not now but the tooltip sure doesn't say so. If it is it's a hidden perk at this point, since it now serves to give minor protection when the invis ends.

It's horrible right now. Every gap closer pulls me out of cloak, and people just spam them

Honestly I've seen people try to escape with Invisibility and it worked for them, but those could have very well been potions. This was in BWB though and no one really tried to gap close them. I tried shooting them with Bombard, but all it ever said was Miss and they stayed invisible.

Cloak is pretty meh, yes, but it's still used by competitive players. I wish I recorded my duels with this one Praetorian Nightblade, he'd use cloak at the right time to heal (vigor and rally) before I could Radiant Destruct him. The duel lasted for about 7 mins and he actually ended up killing me by quickly bursting from stealth. (I have 27k health, 2k crit resist, Mag Templar etc) So I went back to hunt for him and we fought it out again, but this time I got him CC'd before he could cloak and he was a goner.

PvP on this game can be so awesome, people really need to work on their builds and getting used to their rotation so that they can be frequent with their choice of skills in intense fights, makes a huge difference.

I was trying a bit of PvP on my newly maxed NB and I noticed that too, getting hit by dizzying swing WHILE I cloaked ridiculous.

Cloak is being broken by way too many things which shouldn't be able to break it.
It's a bug and therefore it needs to be fixed. No matter how much you hate a class, bugs should always be fixed.

Not to mention that so many NPC's simply ignore the fact that you're cloaked at all.

You'll be in a fight, you'll cloak and they'll walk up to you and keep attacking you normally.

Yeah I dislike using it around NPCs.. they just stand there, watching my every move while I'm invisible, then run right at me, or even follow me while I'm invisible.

The underdeveloped brains of players that do not seem to possess object permanence whine so much about how the squishy NB goes invisible. So now everything gets nerfed and broken to try to assuage them. Magicka NB used to mean something in this town. Now, we're just mainly a support role in PvP. If you think stamblades got it bad..

I personally think that cloak should not be able to stop you taking damage at all, I mean gap closers shouldn't be able to find you if stealthed/invisble but at the same time you are still there and if an attack hits you it should cause the same damage you would take if visible.

They should fix the bug where people can finish whatever attack (mostly Wrecking Blow) they started casting before cloak was activated. If it's a targeted ability, it should NOT be hitting people who are cloaked.

They should also make it so enemy DOTs don't remove cloak, only AoE abilities.

All forms of cloak suppress DoTs upon activation. And a clock lasts for about 3 seconds. Cloak twice (for the full duration) and it should be over. I can still render a coldfire useless (as a Stam NB).

cloak is fine once they fix the crap that pulls you out that shouldnt. cloak purging dots was OP imo. it negated a whole class basically. (dk dots). it allowed a nb to completely avoid a champ star. and as was pointed out could face tank balliastas, oils, etc. the changes were needed, but they need to fix what brings you out of cloak.

i also wouldnt call it useless and generalize that "every" competetive build drops it. It can be a pretty solid used offensively so long as you time things right. plus you can still get your crit/defense from it. last, combined with a cc it can get you out of some sticky situations. it is not perfect not at all, but it can still be effective despite that. lets also not forget that it purges radiant.

No way. See that's the problem with nb. Why the heck you going to buff a mediocre at best dps skil. I would rather wrecking blow your face. Personally, I do what you stated but then hit with a fully charged heavy attack/SA combo and given the length of the stun can still ambush into ultimate combo. If your not dead then I execute. Opening with ambush is what noob nb do. It's what the people do who jumped onto the bandwagon. Fully buffing and using your ambush on it is dumb.

Lets go through the stuff that is supposed to be a counter:
-Expert Hunter + morphs
-Inner Light + morphs
-Revealing Flare + morphs
-Piercing Mark
-Every ability that does AoE damage

some aoe abilities that are actually used in pvp:
-Caltrops, Steel Tornado, Bombard, Wall of Elements
-Hurricane
-Ritual of Retribution, Spear, Jabs
-Fiery Breath, Volitile Armor, Inhale, Eruption
-Sap Essence, Path

So thats no counter for you?

What does counter cloak now even though it shouldn´t:

-Any form of charge ability like Crit Rush, Shiel Charge, Teleport Strike,...
-Any Cast time ability like Wrecking Blow
-Volatile Armor DoT
-Structured Entropy
-Vice Cannon DoT

Especially the first 2 catagories really hurt as those get spammed all over you.

Problem is that people have easy mode to pul.nb out with the bugs right now. When they do get fixed people will actually have to try a bit and you will hear the nerf threads again.
