Could the Automated Cheat Detection be causing the lag?

Just think about it, since last weekend the ping rates have been terrible (PC EU) and the game becomes unplayable at times. As the Automated Cheat Detection is scanning your character constantly, I think that's what is causing this.

Not the recent updates that were made. There's been lag in the game for over two years which points more to hardware capability than anything software related.

That's strange, so my hardware suddenly changed last weekend? Had no trouble running the game on Ultra settings before.

Edit: I am talking about PVE lag by the way, I know Cyrodill has been a mess for a long time. Which many believe has been caused by the anti-botting update. I see a pattern here.

So what or sayig is .... Lag or cheaters ...... Yea i rather deal with lag that no skill players who have 0 skills that they gotta cheat

There's having a bit of lag and there's what's happening (on ps4 , X1 EU) like unplayable persistent lag , sometimes the game brings you literally where you where like 5 seconds ago . pushing buttons and having effect 4 secs later etc
I guarantee you won't play any further kinda lag

But it isn't caused by a anti cheat thing , since the bad game performance is only affected on console servers .
I don't say you don't have any lag on pc , but i'm pretty sure it's not the same gravity as on consoles recently

You're kidding right?

This evening, loading character, kicked out (unexpected error) 5 times in a row. Followed by, npc's not responding while pressing E 100 times, kicked out, back in, doors not opening while pressing E 100 times, and so on and so on...

Trials or dungeons become a slideshow sometimes. And I don't mean "like" a slideshow, no... a real slideshow.

I guess were pretty much on the same level, be it console or PC.

Agreed, but if the game becomes literally unplayable even the non-cheaters can't play anymore. This week I had 3 evenings that I stopped playing because of this. It's never been this bad before (at least for me) and I have been playing since August 2014. Not talking about Cyrodill, I know I can expect this when going there.

By the way, I am not saying "lag or cheaters". I am just pointing out something they could look into, if it is causing the lag it could be reworked maybe so that cheaters are caught AND we don't have this horrendous lag.

Hmm I've noticed massive lag in dungeons recently, normal and vet. To the point where there is a 5+ second delay, often to the point of being kicked to login. Group members would confirm that it happened to them too.
