Just keep leveling, go for quest rewards. It doesn't stable off until like 140CP.

In group dungeons, even at scaled cp 160 the gear will be set to the nearest lowest cp 10 denominator. So at say cp 27 you get cp 20 stuff.

Funny. Stros M'Kai, Bethnik and Glenumbra used to be vet 1, which translates to cp10, but is now cp40. Stormhaven used to be v2, but is now cp70. And the first gold-zone, Khenarthi's Roost/Auridon, that used to be vet6 is now cp160.
I suppose they have adjusted the levels for the speedier leveling, and forgot to adjust dropped loot.

Not really. When they rebalanced everything to make leveling alts easier, they did a fairly inconsistent job of considering new players. Fortunately, the resources in the zone should make gear you can wear, if you can craft. That's not going to be true once you reach the CP160 zone in your fifth Silver zone. The resources available will be well below the level of the Mobs--but at least at that point the CP160 mobs will be dropping CP 140 gear--so you can wear looted gear only 20 CP below your enemies for the next six zones.

It's all really oddly conceived--and possibly meant to drive you into the DLC zones, where you won't have these problems.

Silver has wider lvl/cp gaps because all of thw gold zones are 160cp for people above 160 to get full xp.

Your Level 50 gear should suffice until you have the necessary number of CPs; you don't really need new gear every 10 CPs.

my advice is to go to wrothgar or hews bane,

Where you are leveled but the gear that drops is your level.

I think Stormhaven is cp20 zone for EP and silver. Can't check now for sure but before vet removal I'm pretty sure this was the V2 zone.

Edit: no I think I'm wrong. As people have said here it seems to scale higher now. Seems to go straight to cp40 now.

Anyway skipping a couple of levels before you get new gear shouldn't be a problem. And if you have access to dlc's this is the best zones as all loot scale to your level.

If you grind for a little while your cp can catch up to the zone level. I can see how that can be troublesome for new players who didnt already have a couple hundred before the change over from Vet, but maybe you can take this as an emphasis to rely more on crafting your own gear instead of using looted items.

But like i said, a bit of grinding and your cp will catch up.

There are some nice dropped sets in the intermediate Champ Ranks, like Syrbane, Martial Knowledge etc. However, I make a set of gear at CP10 (or what was called Vet1) and wear that until I reach max rank. Especially if you have a good amount of Champ Points.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The only good news is that with the CP curve the way it is now, you will get to CP40 very quickly.

When they removed the veteran levels, they did state that the Silver zones would be CP40 and would go up from that point and the Gold zones would be CP 160. Quite frankly, you should come out of Coldharbour with about 25-30 CPs putting you only a level or so behind the first Silver zone and it should be easily doable. And, believe it or not, the initial CPs you earn will fall like rain until you get around 160-200 pts.
