I think so but my guess is any new level cap will come with or after "One Tamriel"

Well, in most MMO's gear gets dated quite soon, we have it good in ESO in that sense. At some point we'll have to update current gear for end game I guess.

They can introduce new gear without raising gear CP cap.. like they've done the last couple of patches.. which seemed to go down well with most people and should be the way to do it imho... if we wanted to grind for new gear every few months/weeks, we'd all be playing BDO or WoW

Different gear effects >>> bumping CP gear cap

It'd definitely going to hurt a lot if they do. The mat increase alone from other sets to current CP160 gear is ridiculous.

Honestly at this stage I think it would be more sensible to take a horizontal approach - continue focusing on new sets and updating old ones for variety - rather than forcing everyone back onto that treadmill.

That said, I guess if they ever push the NPC/content cap past 160, it'll likely come with a gear increase at that point.

Why? Do you fear that the game will not make more legendary improvment materials? Perhaps they will have it were gear is upgradable from CP160 to the new cap as well (wishfull thinking)... Although it would be awesome to try some of the lower level sets as capped sets.

I'll probably quit if they do. Acquiring stuff for all my builds was a pain in the ass and gold material is ridiculously expensive. Just imagine how expensive it will get if the vet ranks go up and everyone has to go out and make new sets. We'll make all those personal banker/survey exploiters richer than before. And the fact that I have every maelstrom weapon I want and gold.....I don't even want to think about it :s

No, it has already been confirmed on PTS, they will not increase gear level. It is still CP160.

When they do I will be taking a nice long break for like life.

The vr removal gear grind was bad enough and I was a proponent of the VR removal I'm not a proponent of redoing it all again.

It's not this but instead how ZOS has 130 mats required for one piece.
U can't do that and think ppl won't freak out or cause backlash if u raise the gear level.

They still haven't brought some encounters up to max gear level so that's a perspective

Including some type of upgrade system would make sense when they increase the gear cap. Maybe a couple of gold tempers and some materials per piece?

It has been confirmed on PTS that they will not increase gear cap with this update. They will definitely increase it at some point in the future, though.

I don't want a new Level of Gear. Ever. Cp 160 should stay max. However I feel they could possibly add a new Tier of Improvement to Gear, above legendary that requires you do complete a difficult activity or action in order to upgrade your legendary weapon or armor piece. (Not just mat grinding)

Also, if they do, can't wait for each piece of armour to require 1300 Refined Leather :cold_sweat:

I think they will eventually. They will probably introduce some new godly materials for armour and weapons for champion ranks between 170-501 with new skins and styles to go with them. Hopefully reducing the amount of mats required for making cp160 gear or increase access to mats also.

It seems with all of the lagging and loading screen issues ZOS is more concerned in keeping long running players playing the game and are not that fussed on expanding its clientele. Bringing in new armour and mats above cp160 will keep the game interesting but at the same time will make end game look impossible to new players.

I hope they never do at least not without some option to upgrade / scale some sets. I got some golden jewelry I never want to grind again
