Black cat with red collar

I just saw a guy with a black cat with a red collar running after him, I asked him how he got it and he replied the Japanese version of the game.
I am Canadian and have had my account since pre launch, I would KILL for this pet. Is there any possible way for me to get it?
I've always had black cats growing up, red is my favourite colour, and I adore green eyes.
If I am not able to get this pet, I am going to be extremely disappointed.

I think you can buy the Japanese version of the game and use the code that comes with it.

So it's a code you get, it doesn't just automatically stick onto your japanese versions account?

It's an exclusive promotion for the Amazon Japan digital download, which is a $71 edition that, as per purchase page, can only be purchased by people living in Japan.

But apparently even the physical discs are just a link for a digital downloads. So those $107 discs on eBay probably don't even have game files on them. Or the black cat code. Just a code for the original Explorer's Pack if advertised as being included.


Strangely, the Amazon site says that the cat's name is Mimi, while UESP says it's named Salem.


And this is why hobbyists hate the word "exclusive" but absolutely dread the words "regional promotion/exclusive."

Well that stinks that Bethesda would only offer a pet to a certain country and leave out everyone else ..
Sorry I really think pets r something fun to have and I just love this cat.. so ja not being able to have one kind of bothers me. -_-,
They could at least make it so no one but people from that country can see them so other people don't feel left out by this but I guess that's the way Bethesda shows paying customers from other parts of the world how much they appreciated them ty B!

They won't stay exclusive forever. Pretty sure I heard they would make their way to the crown store after a while.
