Ancient Elf Greatsword

Hey guys

I love the Ancient Elf Greatsword above all else, however recently I discovered something. When you improve the sword from blue to purple, it changes the colour of the blade to green.

I'm not sure if this is typical of all weapons that get improved, I've never gone beyond improving a sword to epic quality. I hate the green colour, and I don't want to waste any Legendary Tannins improving it further if it doesn't change the colour.

Has anyone who's read this created a legendary Ancient Elf Rubedite Greatsword with legendary quality before? and can they confirm for me what colour it turns the blade?

Thanks for any help.

Yeah, the different colors you make it will change the appearance of the blade in slight ways,

Like my AD staff, when it was purple it was gold, than I made it gold it turned platinum.

But that green color is why I've stayed away from ancient elf, to much like glass.

I'd like to be able to dye the color of my weapons back to metal . I don't really care much for colored weapons .

Huh, it's not entirely red like other weapons.

    Glass is very similar.

Tell you what, if you're on PC/NA and have 8 Tempering Alloys you're willing to burn for it then I'll supply the rest of the mats and craft it in any 8 trait, non-DLC Set you want. Just for you only. If you don't want to post your in-game tag, send me a priv message via the forum.

I do appreciate the offer, however eso fashion doesn't show the weapons based on temper quality. I have got 8 Alloys but I don't want to risk spending them my Rubedite A/elf sword to legendary if the blade still remains green.

    From what I've noticed,

    Normal quality - white blade
    Green/blue quality - Silver blade
    Purple quality - Green blade
    Gold quality - ??? blade

I wanna know what colour the blade turns when it becomes legendary, that's all.

Looks a bit green. If ya put one of the prismatic glyths on it, it may sparkle it up.

I have legendary Ancient Elf weapons as well and they do the same thing with the green blade and red handle, confirmed with the 1h swords and staves. I want to dye them so badly, but I'm probably just going to fork out to make new ones that don't turn green :/. Especially now I can finally dye my costume to not be green.

    Thanks heaps Banana! *thumbs up*

Yeah unfortunately green and red have got to be the worst two colours to have together for a weapon, so you've saved me some tannins, cheers.

thats why I only use glass weapons, because they dont chance to the horrible red color when upgraded to legendary. My magNb is rocking 2 legendary glass swords, and the blade of the weapon still has the original light metal color. The only thing that chances is the color of the hilt, which you don't even notice when you are holding the sword.
