Is Bound Armor Broken?

I recently started playing again and I noticed that both the magic and stamina based morphs of bound armor no longer change the appearance of my character. They used to give the look of a full daedric armor looking armor, now they don't change my appearance at all. I tried contacting tech support but they are totally clueless and gave me the following reply:

When did a bugged skill become part of game mechanics or quest walkthroughs?

Is anyone else having this issue? I am having this problem on two different characters.

Update: Just as I submitted this tech support sent me an email telling me to report this as a bug so they can look in to it further so please disregard my previous statement about them.

... Last patch (Or TG?) the permanent visual was removed, it now applies momentarily when activated. This is being changed again next patch. Strange that support don't know this.

It's been a few patches since I have played on my sorc, so I am not sure as to when it happened. SO it is not supposed to change your appearance at all anymore? I don't see it even momentarily when I turn it on. It's odd that they would remove that and not update the description because it still says in there that is is supposed to give a full set of armor.

Thats not a bug, but an intended change to make individual appearance choices matter, even when you have ro use this *** skill for efficiency. With the upcomming shadows of he hist DLC BA visuals will recieve a rework that does not ovacure your character, but instead makes him emit a purple glow.

I don't see why they don't just give the option for appearance changes to override this so we aren't forced to have it shown, or just add an option in the settings to turn off the appearance like we have with the horse upgrades.
