Maximum length for avatar names?

I am not in game presently, ergo cannot test the character creation to see the maximum allowed character name length. Having spent an hour now entering key words into the forum and Google resulted in only what I already know: hyphens, apostrophes, spaces and other restrictions, but nowhere could I find the length restriction;odd that eh? Can anyone enlighten me so I can write out test names before I create? Thanks in advance. =^.^=
