NPCs Now Looking Away Instead of Facing You

Has anyone else noticed that when talking to quest or random NPCs that a lot of them no longer look at you but instead look away?!? I was completing several quests today and noticed that when speaking to them, they used to look at you... but now they look away... tested on a couple of different characters and results are the same. Some still look at you, but many seem 'preoccupied' while speaking to you. Very bizarre.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Is there some behind the scenes NPC updating occurring because this didn't happen until very recently... as in the past week or so.

Having to rescue the mercenaries in "Serpent's Beacon" just outside Vulkhel Guard and none of them look at you, they all sit staring downward like they're embarrassed that they had to be rescued. Since it's on consoles too then there was definitely something with the latest update... I honestly wonder if they're adding various work that they're doing on One Tamriel into the game? Well, whatever it is it is definitely a problem and not just from an immersion POV... it's extremely distracting, especially for those like me who focus exclusively on solo questing.

I noticed that as well. In fact they look at the place where you are before starting to talk to them. The camera just zooms in their faces but in fact you are where they are looking at. They are still looking at you but you just see them not looking at the camera.

Not the ones you rescue on the beach... unless they were sitting their looking at their feet the whole time... but I've walked up to NPCs facing them head-on only to have the 'conversation' screen showing them looking away like they're talking to someone beside me.

If this is about the Speaker from Dark Brotherhood he does that to add an air of mystery and stuff. If you think this is bad how about the fact every time you call your merchant or banker you have to move toward them when talking to them...

It's not the Speaker, it's all other NPCs. It has happening to me a few days now. Quests NPCs, merchants, bankers... they all act like I'm not worth to look at, rise their chin and look away when talking to me.

Tested this last night on the banker in Vulkhel Guard. When I approached her head-on and activated interaction she looked away from me to her left, if I approached from her left and activated, she looked straight at me normally. So apparently it has something to do with positioning now... but strange that if I approached directly in front where she's facing, she looks away... but if I approach from the direction she is looking during activation, she then looks directly at me like we're facing head-on.

This is happening once every three times I talk to an NPC . I have to back out and re select the NPC in order to correct it .

When will this be fixed ?

EU PC user here. Seen it as well, although cannot confirm if they've always done it. There have been so many bugs lately, and some extremely gamebreaking in playstyle and economy.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

Maybe they worry that you can see the things that they have done and had to to, spent their whole lives making up for, and hope that if they look away you can't see it.

Kari in the Thieves Den constantly looks away from me when I'm turning in my 32409823049th Covetous Countess quest for the day, but if I talk to her again to initiate regular conversation she'll face me. Despite not having moved. I like to think she's just looking over at the tip board.
