i thought that little amount was added ontop of the final hit? got a meter to show it or something? i dont run addons

3rd 1.9k
4th 1.9k
5th 4.6k (+300%)
(Redundant 6th - 50, probably due to CP as stated above)
Though each hit should gain buffed damage - I guess this could be a rounding issue with the combat text?

I am getting 5 hits, but something is off here. A second test in the same conditions shows 6 hits, with the 6th being the piddly 40 or w/e.
In all subsequent tests, looking at the floating numbers, the 5th hit IS doing much more damage, addons are just having trouble reading the new rapid strikes is all.
HOWEVER, there is still the odd ~40 (non-DoT) damage that is being done by rapid strikes at the end (within .001 seconds of the last hit), which is odd.
Basically it seems to be working fine except for the extra ~40 damage at the end. A freebie maybe?

the 5th hit did the same amount of damage as the 4th hit. Both were non crits
