Fair warning for possible player to player trade scam..

So you all are aware and be forewarned. I think there's someone cheating others on trading between player to player. I'm fairly new to trading between player to player. So, I had a guy kept hitting me up to trade. I accepted the few times, and he offered his and I offered mine, and each time, he rejected and left the trades. I ran in that same guy again in another area. We had just killed one of the delves' boss, and I had an extra assassin league motif. I figured, ok, I'll hit him up and see if he has any motif I need and if he needs this one. I offered him the motif, but he never offered anything of his. It appeared he just took mine and the trade was complete. I thought maybe it was a bug. So, I checked my inventory and emails, but nothing, even a day later.. still nothing. It wasn't a big deal to me cause it's only a game and I can get more of those motifs. So, this is just something to be aware of.. to be careful when trading.

You are new to game? Did you hit the R button right after putting your offer and didn't wait for him to show his offer? When you press R you are saying that the deal offered right now is OK to you and you are ready to trade. Not "I am not adding anything so I am ready". If you hit R before other player adds his items you are suggesting that you give your items for free.

Yeah, don't "accept" trade until you both have items in each column.

as above I know in some games you press accept so the other party knows that you are done putting in items so they can put in coin or items to barter with. in eso hitting accept means you are taking nothing for the item you are giving. So he probably thought you didn't want the motif and were giving it to him since he was trying to sell things.

EDIT: hope this helps for future reference.

Nope.. did not hit any button. Was just waiting for him to offer up his.. and besides, trading is 2-ways. Giving something for free is a gift and not trading. Again, not a big deal. Just be aware that there can be a possible scammer.
