SIGH....just bought it.

Now I have the game on Xbox and in my Steam Library. It's funny though. Getting it for Xbox cost me $120.00, (base game + year gold subscription) + Tax. For PC is was just $21.75.

xcom 1 and 2 are very different from eachother, hard to compair them, tho i personally gravitate towards 1 since currently dlc are kinda... half arsed for xcom2, plus theres the long war mod

xcom 1 and 2 are very different from eachother, hard to compair them, tho i personally gravitate towards 1 since currently dlc are kinda... half arsed for xcom2, plus theres the long war mod

I have ESO as my #1 game on my Wishlist but I can't bring myself to rebuy the game on Steam when I know the technology exists to give us a Steam Key if we already own the game.

I've purchased ESO more than once already, so I guess I don't really *need* another copy.

Also, I also "Family Share" my Steam library with a few friends. Their saving grace is the fact that I play a Non-Steam game for 99% of my gaming time. Not that I'd solely let that dictate which games I'm playing but I wouldn't render my library inaccessible because I felt like playing a duplicate game on Steam. I currently have ESO added as a Non-Steam game. Gotta have that Overlay!

I know where you're going with that but there have been articles written (don't care enough to Google for them) where they interview the "hackers". They all for the most part say that the $ doesn't stop them and they list the hundreds or thousands of dollars they've blown just to 'wreck people'.

Anyway... Yes, they'll try to get it from a cheap place. But if anyone thinks "$20 on Steam" is the cheap place they're going to...it's not.

Question how stable is the PC game? I play on x1 and in its current state its almost unplayable with disconnects, double/triple loading screens, invisible npcs, broken group finder and so forth. If PC seems more stable it might be time for me to switch. It would suck though I have a 1000 hrs on my one and only character...

Hopefully it will drop down below $10 at some point.

Somewhere between $4.99 - 7.49 for the base game would be perfect, resulting in an influx of a lot of new players and good price for existing players to buy multiple copies to give as gifts to friends via Steam.

Once anyone has been playing for a while, features like crafting bags, additional character slots, name change, race change etc make subscribing or buying crowns start to look appealing.

As someone who has Steam, I hate it. I like ESO but I find I use -NONE- of the "features" of Steam so it's just another account to keep up with, another logon and password to maintain, another batch of slow tech support people to deal with, another layer than can fail or get hacked, another account I have to hassle with every time I buy something from the crown store.

Double the hassle, zero benefit.

When I go to the crown store and start a purchase it calls up a browser to my steam account. But first I need to log on to ESO though Steam (though I was already playing the game) So I log in there. Sometimes it also makes me do an additional logon to Steam, using that user name and password (though, again, I was already play the game through Steam). Then I can fund my steam account (which, since I use PayPal, also involves more logging on). Once the Steam account is funded, I can approve the purchase. After another screen or two I finally get back to the game and crowns show in my account. So then I can use the crowns to make a crown purchase. It is an amazing hassle with lots of steps.

But even if you never make a crown purchase, why oh why would you pay a 3rd party to be between you and your game?
