I need to reroll a solo-only build/class

Hi folks! I’m wanting to reroll a Templar build (or a new class) that has maximum survivability, and hopefully some decent damage, for soloing PvE content only (e.g., questing, world bosses, etc). Due to my hectic work and family schedule, I realized that I just don’t have time for group content anymore. So I’m left casually soloing nearly everything in the game, but that’s okay. I figure now is a good time to reroll since Dark Brotherhood dropped.

The catch is that I’m a tad bored with my current Templar playstyle (I just hit V1 before DB released). I’ve been loosely following Deltias’ magicka-based Omega Templar build (http://deltiasgaming.com/eso-magic-templar-dps-build). When searching for new solo builds, I commonly see the following on forums: “All solo PvE content is easy, just use sweeps/jabs.” But relying on and pressing one button gets old quickly. Can anyone share with me some godmode style solo builds/guides for Templars? To me, survivability is more important than damage output. Alternatively, I’m also open to rolling a new class. I remember that Dragonknights were pretty darn good in PvE, and I have also seen people discuss Sorcerers as a solid solo class too (would have never thought that). Keep in mind though, I’d have to level from scratch for anything other than Templar, so any leveling builds for those other classes would be super helpful too.

TL;DR: I want to destroy things in solo PvE and not worry about survivability at all. I’d love a fun but not overly difficult build, ideally a Templar, but I’m open to rolling a new class. Is there a fun-to-play godmode build out there for filthy casuals like me?

Thanks so much for any advice or guides!

DragonKnight: Stamina DK is the way to go in my opinion.
Search for Alcast PVE DK builds which are excellent. You dont need the exact gear in his videos but more important is the way he explains the reasoning behind the builds synergies so you can make it work with alot of armor & weapon sets.
Alcast Stam DK DD PVE Build

@Alcast has one of the best guide sites on youtube for ESO in my opinion.

Nightblade: is strong as always both Magicka and Stamina based. PVE and PVP
An example of what the class can do at the highest skill level in PVE: EU Fastest Maelstrom Arena Run I use this as an example only. I dream of being that skilled.

Sorcerer: There's a long line of really mad Magicka Sorcs now, I'll skip that commentary and reasons why as there are several unbalanced reasons. In all honesty Stam Sorcs have some ok Stamina builds floating around and people are trying to get used to the changes to the class abilities. The Hurricane morph is a nice AOE dot which can proc the execute passive ability usefull in PVE.

Magica nightblade has really good damage and survivability too and it's a lot more than one button bashing. Different abilities for single target an aoe, buff applying and procs, melee and staff playstyles, 3 really good ultimates, straight up damage or sap tank playstyle..

A lot more variety for sure.

I'm been a NB most my ESO life, but I'm currently having fun with my Templar.

I have been using 5 pieces heavy ( Law of Julianos ) for the the heavy armor "Unstoppable" skill. and the rest light seducer armor.

I think in the near future I might be switching to "orgnum's Scales" armor set.

    5 pieces:
If below 60% Health, increase Health Recovery by 50%.

I don't do much PvE, but I don't have a problem of dying in IC or PvP dungeons.

Thanks so much for the DK resource! I'll definitely check out alcast's site and YouTube page. That's also interesting to hear about Sorcs... sound like DB broke some things for them?

    @Brrrofski
The variety offered by NB sounds interesting for sure. Do you have any preferred builds/guides for them?

Aw yeaaah! Pet classes were my favorite in other MMOs! That said, it's clear you're a boss player and I'm a filthy casual. If I don't run the best gear and don't have much CP yet, is this viable for me? How rough would the learning curve be considering I'm new to the sorc class?

I showcase soloing the most difficult content I can find, so just start with easier stuff while you're getting the feel for the build. Upper Craglorn delves and normal dungeons would be good to start.

For CPs I'd say you'll be ready to solo some pretty difficult content by the time you're in the mid 300s. You'll need close to the cap to clear difficult vet dungeons and trial bosses.

Don't worry too much about gear and a learning curve while you level, just keep practising and once ur at CP 160 you can craft a couple of good sets (Torugs Pact and Magnus) that will help you along.

@jpdunningub17_ESO I'd recommend rolling an Imperial Nightblade if you're looking for something that offers variety and is interesting without taking the time to dive too deep. Imperial lets you roll stamina or magicka and be fairly successful and you can change it up whenever you want. You can be incredibly successful running solo in PVP on either build. You also leave yourself open to filling a variety of rolls in PVE.

Nightblade hands down offers the most flexibility in every aspect of the game. Imperial is one of the best races for utility as well, though something like woodelf or Khajit are also good.
Xbox NA : CP 160 StamPlar, MagNB, MagSorc, StamSorc, StamDK, StamNB, Level 10 MagDK & MagPlar, StamWarden, MagWarden

    - And now it sure does, better learn how to bash folks!

I get by with a little help from logic.

You've got a Templar, you really don't need to re-roll into anything to solo even hard stuff. You can wade into stuff throwing Blockade, Blazing Spears and Ritual of Retribution (heals and hurts). Tough bosses you can RoR again, Purifying Light (also hurts and heals) and Sweeps (again, heals and hurts). Even the execute, Radiant Destruction, can be morphed to heal as it hurts. Just throw your Rune Focus down for more magicka and the extra resistance.
Zuuda Sharptongue - Mage apprentice, Khajiitmasterace, still kinda omnommnivore.

So I recently returned after a very long hiatus. I started back with my Stam NB and just did awful. It was 180 from my prior experience. I read up a lot, looked at new builds but no matter what I tried I just got flat out pwned in PvE.

So I finished leveling my Sorc to 50 and gave a Stam Sorc a try. At this time I had about 90CP (currently at 150). What a night & day difference. My DE melee Stam Sorc played like I remember my NB, from an effectiveness standpoint.

Are NBs now the "group de jure" class and from a PvE soloing standpoint I need to look elsewhere? I see the NBs strengths against single targets but that's pretty limiting in solo PvE. I don't like sneaking past every group of more than 2, especially when my Stam Sorc or Templar can just plow through 'em..

Should I be looking at a magicka NB build?
