most of the time when i travel through a wayshrine to another region it takes about 10 to 20 seconds to load, but there are a few times when it can take several minutes, sometimes i wait but another times i give up and i prefer to restart the game. i have no idea if there are any key to cancel a fast travel, but if there isn't it would be great to have that options. i'd prefer to cancel a fast travel when i think that it is not fast enough than to restart the game. any ideas on this?

Nope only way is to restart. I usually wait until the first comment about unusually long load time before restarting. Tho nothing unusual about it and appears after 5 seconds so not long lol

the game probably frees the memory used to store the old zone data and loads new data. to cancel it you need to load old data back, this will take time too

If I fast travel and it takes more than 30 seconds, I force exit the game (Alt Tab, Close from Taskbar) Sure, it may get me there eventually if I wait, but, yea, patience is not a strong suit of mine. I then load up the game again. I can be back in the game in less than 30 seconds.

On an unrelated note, if you initiate a Fast Travel and then decide you don't want to, as long as you see your character tracing out the constellation, you can just start walking and the FT will stop. No Gold gets take this way either.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

yes, i understand that, but it still would be better than restart the game, and it may not be that hard to create a button to cancel the travel.

Maybe, maybe not. When I get stuck in the travel, sometimes I am at my destination, sometimes I am where I was to start with when I log back to the game. The whole issue arises because for some reason the game can not load the zone or area you are going to. There may not be a way to cancel the travel in the first place, or if there was, it does not mean the game can still load the destination. In the latter case, can the game even put you back where you want to be? The game may be well and truly hung on a thread in the CPU Core, so there is no game to return to unless you quit.
