So I went trough the list of all dropped Sets you can get from there and checked if they are still viable options. Since Im happy that some of these return, at the same time im im really worried they just get back into the game with CP160 but stil got outdated Set Bonuses -> Still useless.
So I made this list with many outdated sets from trials, pointing out problems and some suggestions to improve them, hopefully taken into consideration before going to PTS or Live in a underwhelming/disappointing manner.
Many of these sets remained unchanged even with Soft Cap removal, being from a time with different rules, rendering them absolutely useless. But lets get started:

Stygian:
(2 items) Adds 121 Spell Damage
(3 items) Adds 911 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 911 Max Magicka
(5 items) While sneaking or invisible, spells do an additional 20% damage.

Armor: Medium (Reinforced); All Armor Pieces availaible, except Shoulders
Weapons: Dagger (Sharpened)

Comment:
With the huge importance of Armor Reduction/Penetration we currently face, this Set is pretty useless because its not Light Armor and therefore has no Light Armor Passives availaible, especially Spell Penetration which comes at 5pc Light Armor. Additionally, "Reinforced" as only Trait option is definetly not helping with anything when playing a Magicka Build.

Suggestion:
- Add Necklace and Rings
- Add more Trait Options for Armor

Its now possible to still have 5 pc Stygian equipped, without missing out 5 pc Light Armor and its passives.
with the new Trait options it can be put to better use in both PvE and PvP.

Robes of the Necromancer:
(2 items) Adds 121 Magicka Recovery
(3 items) Adds 121 Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds 1002 Max Health
(5 items) Gain 1215 Health and Magicka when a nearby enemy dies. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.

Armor: Light (Infused); All Armor Pieces availaible
Weapons: None

Comment:
A good set and at first looks quite useful in PvE when looking at the 5pc Bonus.
The Problem with this set is, the Stamina Recovery isnt useful and the 5pc Bonus is very situational(enemy death needed)and cooldown is either too long or the Health/Magicka restore is too low.

Suggestion:
- Either replace Stamina Recovery with Max Magicka and/or add Stamina Recovery additionally as 5pc Bonus(like with Shadow Dancers Raiment Set)
- Increase the Health restored to 3645(3x as much) and keep 1215 Magicka restored, cooldown remaining at 3 seconds.
- Add more trait Options for Armor

These Changes overall improve this set and make it in PvE Endgame more interesting due to higher Ressource Return and in PvP more useful at all since Battle Spirit is kept in mind, too(Health restore).

Ice Furnace:
(2 items) Adds 911 Max Magicka
(3 items) Adds 648 Spell Critical
(4 items) Adds 121 Weapon Damage
(5 items) 50% chance when damaging target with Frost to also deal 456 Flame Damage.

Armor: Heavy (Well-Fitted); All Armor Pieces Availaible
Weapons: None

Comment:
This Item Set is very outdated, it comes with Weapon Damage which Staves USED TO benefit from long ago, but is worthless to have at all now.
The rest of the Bonuses clearly point towards a Magicka Build, just like the 5pc Bonus, which deals pretty underwhelming Damage.

Suggestion:
- Replace Weapon Damage with Spell Damage
- Add more trait Options for Armor
- Add new Weapon Possibilities, like Frost Staff, Restoration Staff, Shields and 1h Weapons, which come in most Traits availaible
- Improve the 5pc Bonus by increasing the additional Damage to 1368(3x the value) and replace the Flame Damage with Frost Damage

This Set suffers from different kinds of problems. Ranging from a since long time useless Weapon Damage Bonus on a Magicka focused Set, from too few Trait Options and from an underwhelming(while cool) 5pc Bonus.
Note: The Suggestions for the big 5pc Bonus Damage Increases are made with keeping the loss of Spell Penetration (no 5pc Light Armor) and Frost Damage being overall lower than Flame Damage, in mind.

Storm Knight's Plate:
(2 items) Adds 1822 Spell Resistance
(3 items) Adds 121 Spell Damage
(4 items) Adds 121 Spell Damage
(5 items) 5% chance when damaged with spells to deal 3500~ Shock Damage to nearby enemies every 2 seconds for 6 seconds.

Armor: Heavy (Robust); All Armor Pieces Availaible
Weapons: Shield
Jewelry: Necklace

Comment:
A great Set, which should do well after becoming CP160. However, the 5pc Bonus tooltip needs to be clarified (procs only from direct damage? Do Dots count? How big is the radius?).

Suggestion:
- Clarify Tooltip
- Add more Trait Options for Armor
- Add more Weapon Options, like Shock Staff, Restoration Staff and 1h Weapons, with most traits availaible

Robes of Destruction Mastery:
(2 items) Adds 945 Max Magicka
(3 items) Adds 672 Spell Critical
(4 items) Adds 126 Spell Damage
(5 items) Increase Max Magicka by 6% while you have a destruction staff equipped.

Armor: Light (Reinforced); All Armor Pieces availaible, except Shoes
Weapons: None

Comment:
Not much to say here. It is a great set with a great 5pc Bonus, but limited in use due to too few combinations possible with other sets.

Suggestion:
- Add more Trait Options for Armor, Reinforced is really not good, especially since its the only option.
- Add more Jewelry and Weapon Options, like Destruction staves (as the sets name suggests) and maybe a Necklace or Rings

The Set is great but lacks lots of options, not being worth considering on its own. Just by adding a Necklace or Rings and Staves would allow endless combinations and possibilities with Crafted Sets

I know this set is dropped in PvP, but it has the same issues like the Destruction Mastery Set, preventing it from having access to its full potential, and should be buffed the same way.

Robes of Alteration Mastery:
(2 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
(3 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
(4 items) Adds 688 Spell Critical
(5 items) Reduce all costs by 6%

Armor: Light (Infused); All Armor Pieces availaible, except Shoes
Weapons: None

Comment:

Thats it for now, I think I covered most "normal drops". I will maybe later continue this List with the Trial Exclusive Bound-On-Pickup Sets.

    Nice overview !

    That Alteration set
Why not a Stamina version ?
With Stamina Recovery and Weapon Crit
    Magicka got Julianos...
I think it is about time that Stamina got some revised versions of "old sets" ;)
"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

Well, I covered most sets you get from those Dungeons that need to be looked at, where the majority of those sets happen to be Magicka based ones.
For Alteration Mastery, we should keep it the way it is because its unique and can be adjusted fairly easily to become useful.
Sure, we could get a Medium or Heavy Armor version of that set, but we should keep changes as small as possible here.

For Stamina Sets, well, most from the trials or DSA are already looking pretty good and dont need to be changed when they are at CP160 (my opinion).

    @andypappb16_ESO ,

    ahhh
My intention was certainly not to change the Alteration set. It is a great set for Magicka builds.

But Stamina has little Stamina resource sustain set possibilities.
    And ability cost are high.
The old sets are more aimed at damage and stealth.

Well for sustain there are great options. Dont forget there is quite some good stuff like
    - Hawk's Eye (availaible at CP160, even with Rings)
    - Marksman (availaible at CP160, even with Weapons + all Jewelry)
    - Quick Serpent (comes at CP160 now)

And I dont feel like Stamina Players are having less good Sets to chose from, just keep the updated CP160 Sets from Elite Vendors in Cyrodiil.

Well thats what im afraid of, and until PTS I'd say we got about 2 weeks left, which maybe is time to consider some of my proposed changes, thats why I made this thread. To give an idea whats working and what needs to be reworked. Lets hope for the best

    Taken from ESO fextra:
Values for CP-160: the "old sets" are MA only.

Hawk's Eye is for a Stamina Bow build:
(2 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(5 items) Reduce cost of bow abilities by 5% and increase their damage by 5%.

Markman's Creast is also for a Stamina Bow build, but better than Hawk's Eye.:
(2 Items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(3 Items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(4 Items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(5 Items) Reduce the Stamina cost of abilities by 5% and increase the damage of your bow abilities against players by 8%.

Quick Serpent is general Stamina, but NO Stamina recoverey in 2,3,4 items:
(2 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina
(5 items) Reduces ability Stamina costs by 8%. When you kill an enemy, gain 75% increased Movement Speed for 3 seconds.

Hawk's Eye and Markman's Creast have both Jewelry and Markman's Crest also weapons.
Quick Serpent as far as I know only Armor ?
So only Quick Serpent has with the 8% Stamina cost reduction a resource sustain 5 item bonus that can be used for many kinds of builds, but 2,3,4 are still aimed at DPS/self-HPS.
But the second part of the 5 item bonus shows the general philosophy of this set: "hit and run".

From the earliest beginning of this game I wanted to have one character as a pure Stamina Warrior, standing his ground, kiting & dodging and viable for endgame.
With Magicka and Potions ONLY as Utility and support.
We are slowly getting there :)

So... what I miss is the bread and butter set for starting Stamina builds (crafted):
(2 Items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(3 Items) Adds 967 Max Stamina
(4 Items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(5 items) Reduces ability Stamina costs by 8%.

    and for example:
(2 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(3 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical
(5 items) Reduce all costs by 6%

We needs a revised destructive and healing mage set. They were proper game changing sets just plain weakening all Meele opponents and stacking DKs just holing heavy lightening staff attacks. Good times were had.

Sorry, I dont really understand your concerns here^^
So what you are asking for is basically the Marksmans Crest Set, but you want it with 3% more Cost Reduction right?
If you want to use Heavy Armor but dont miss out on Cost Reduction, you can use Marksman, too.

Compared to Magicka Builds, the cost of Stamina Builds abilities are so damn small already, you wouldnt even benefit too much from that anyway, the 3% more cost reduction wouldnt be noticed, (maybe on caltrops, sure), on a Magicka Build on the other hand a lot. Not to mention Stamina Builds usually end up with more Recovery aswell.

    @DRXHarbinger

Yeah sorry about that, they will be added to the list aswell tomorrow, too tired to do so now^^
Especially the Healing Mage Set has great potential!
