Was cooking food inside some inn, in Shadowfen and I clicked a safebox by mistake and quickly cancelled, getting a 92 gold bounty, a guard comes up to me and then I realize that I've got loads of green and blue stolen items in my bags... so I flee, used an invisibility potion and it failed, then I tried clearing the guard's talon CC spam with purifying ritual (oh wait, it got renamed to Ritual of Retribution) which deals damage now, so it started to kill NPCs around me while I was trying to run from the guard to buy enough time to go invisible again buuuut then the bounty went up a few thousand and then I got one-shotted by the guard's focus aim. The end.
Edit: I wonder when there'll be a safety option for stealing, like prevent from attacking innocents?

✭✭✭✭✭Be prepared next time by selling all that stuff to a fence first. I try to not keep more than 10 stolen items on me at all times ... in case a scenario like you just described happens.0 -

I think there should be an option to prevent stealing, I cannot shop in Rak'wah (sp) without grabbing a carrot or something from behind the guild traders.
That said, I spent a skill point on Clemency in the TG line just for this reason. On days when I am not thieving and get screwed like this at least I have one do-over.

✭✭Looks like that will have to be it then. Get around 10 stolen items and fence them before it's too late... oh and clemency is brilliant, though the cooldown is terrible
ah well, I just thought it was so... random and surprising. It would even be cool if you could go through a door while a guard is chasing you, I mean.. I ran circles around the inn and managed to avoid the guard's attacks/CC for over 10 seconds at one point and I still couldn't use the door...
