Can we tone down snares yet zos?

Snares are so powerful and for some reason you keep adding more on random skill so people don't even have to specifically slot a skill for such a strong effect they just use their usual skills and have it built into their build.

Snares need toning down to a max of like 40% snare, or even 30% to match major expedition.
Then need to come of skills like spamable dps skills or gap closers, people should have to specifically slot a skill for a snare.
Big aoe snares need to not be 70%, 70% is stupid to the point where you literally can't move.

It needs to come off gap closers like lotus fan or stampede etc...

Also i'm not sure if the gap closer snare is still there, i think it got toned down to 60%? That should just be gone, the game was fine before it, it was one of those dodgy changes zos just decided to implement between the last pts patch and the patch that went live. That got great feedback...

Also add a magicka snare immunity skill like shuffle and increase the duration of the immunity, .5s per medium armour is not enough, double it at least.

Elder Snares Online. Remember when snares were not too important? What happened? Zos got triggered with the snares, they even added one to the templars purify..

    Totally agree... although one thing comes to mind (if it has been fixed yet)... Mist Form. I haven't been in Cyrodiil since before DB, but when I do, I'll be getting that ready for sure lol

    People have been complaining about snares and roots since the launch of TG. Longer, actually, but that patch is what forced the pvp meta to change to a permaroot spam meta.

    Maybe the issue will actually get traction if it's discussed here and not in the alliance war section of the forums, and maybe we'll get a quicker turnaround than the usual 3+ months for a problem that the combat team created 6 months ago and haven't done jack to address.

    The problem with your suggestion is that; without snares attached to gap closers, and adding longer immunity, we would have builds that are virtually invincible.

    Dodge roll > Shuffle or forward momentum > dodge roll after 4 secs. With around 4k recovery the only weakness you have is to hard cc's, and lets be honest, with unchained passive, break free is simply another 5 secs of immunity. The game is already way too forgiving to stam builds that , with certain builds and skills seem immune to poor positioning.

    I feel that builds shouldn't have a level of immunity to poor positioning. Positioning should be important in large or small fights. If gap closer's didn't have the snare they have, would someone ever land an actual attack after closing the gap?

    But I do agree where 70% seems quite excessive, especially on caltrops with the insane size of the AOE.

    Well there are ways to counter dodge rollers, plus there is the 33% increase costs, curse, channels, aoe's etc.. all go through dodge roll.

    Well there are ways to counter dodge rollers, plus there is the 33% increase costs, curse, channels, aoe's etc.. all go through dodge roll.

    But then, where do gap closers actually fit into the dynamics! You may as well remove the two-handed skill line. Closing the gap would simply put you out of position, and nothing else. Without the snare you can't land follow-up attacks.

    The snares honestly annoy me too, I just simply understand their place within the games mechanics.

    @leepalmer95 I agree with your 15,000,000,000% that they should remove snares off gap closers everything else I can kinda live with that gap closer snare spam when you running from a zerg and 5-10 people gap closer on you crushes your soul man.@Wrobel please remove this from the game throw PVPers a bone for once man.

    @WhiteNoiseMaker you don't even need snares on gap closers in PVE or the snares in dungeons or VetMA or other such challenges. So removing the snare doesn't hurt no body but zergers who can't get kills any other way.

    Minor entanglement- snares for 10% movement speed

    Major entanglement- snares for 30% movement speed

    These debuffs should match the expedition buff. It would also stop snare stacking (*cough bombard spammers)

    Adding more snare immunity would be excellent.

    Snares, roots and stuns are the fuel of my rage.

    Having control pulled away from me and giving free reign to an overpowered masochist to beat the snot out of me while I just stand and watch, is nothing short of infuriating. Sure, I'd probably lose anyway, but at least I would lose on my own recognizance and not because I was unable to do anything about it.

    So yeah... I pretty much don't do PvP in games where these atrocious mechanics exist. PvP should be about player skill, not who can stun the other person first and then wail on him while he stands there not fighting back. That's just garbage and always will be.

    Something like this sounds like a genuine solution. It's hard to know how it would effect the overall dynamics, but would definitely not have such a game breaking effect as straight up removing them all. Great shout though!

    Yes, it keeps snares for people that like to use it, but limits the potency of the debuffs.

    I like speed characters but when these snares come into play they really *** me off lol.
