What race and class do you play and why?

I play an Altmer as a sorcerer. I did that because in all my TES games I love having the most magika and love casting spells. So that is what I choose for my first character in ESO. I play on the Xbox One, but don't think that will make a difference. I have been reading lots of "what race to pick, what class to pick" but I never really understood as to why. Way to many short forms are being used as well so I can't really understand what they mean.

I am thinking of starting a new character for a different way to play. I am wondering if I should play another race and class. I was thinking may play a Dark Elf or an Argonian. Not sure if I want to try Nightblade or not. So I am asking what race and what class do you play and why. This way I can see what I am missing and why. Maybe after reading your comments, I will see something that intrigues me and will want to try it out.

I play many classes but my main is a Nord templar, stamina specifically. This is because I am a masochist. Ha, nah. I was a Nord in every other ES game so I followed that trend here. I also rp so there were those reasons as well. I have tried many classes but I enjoy templar the most, can't really say why for sure, just like the way it plays. I say start with the race you feel you want to go with, and try all the classes at least once. Get a feel for how they all play. Race is more of a visual thing, since there are only passives and not active skills tied to race. However, I must admit, if you're a min/maxer type of personality, some races are a bit better for certain builds than others.

Argonian Stamina Nightblade. I wanted to play as a Shadowscale. I also wanted a Stamina Nightblade 1v1/small group PvP build and a competitive class for PvE (I think StamBlade DPS in PvE is alright enough to pass everything).

Altmer Templar because I liked Altmer's and Templar's, and it turned out to be a great choice even though I was clueless at the time. I still have an Aldmeri Tattoo on my chest though (I am Ebonheart) so that goes to show how clueless I was.

Wood elf magicka templar because I didn't know anything about anything when I started playing this game. What's a build? Who is MinMax? What do?

I love this character even if she's a little bit of a mess, and even if I was forced to reroll race on her with the next patch, she'd still be a wood elf magicka templar.

I'm right there with ya lol. I love my Bosmer MagSorc with her 1100 stamina regen and adorable shortness.

Other than that I have an Imperial MagBlade, Breton Magplar, Breton MagDK, Redguard StamBlade, and Altmer MagSorc.

Will probably roll Redguard StamDK next, it's just too OP to not have one.

I play every races (except human looking ones: Nord, Breton, Imperial, Redguard. Too common looking imo) and every classes because I like diversity and try different playstyle, with every character it's a new story to be told. ;)

At the moment I play a Wood Elf nightblade, because I wanted to make a thief and an archer.

I loosely PR a Khajiit family clan, so all 7 of my chars are Khajiit. I have 1 sorc and 2 of every other class (stam and magic). Right now because of TG and DB, I'm mainly playing my two Nightblades, but I try and rotate the other classes in when I can. I like playing the different classes and would get bored doing just 1 class.

I play an Argonian Dragonknight healer.

I always play argonians in ES games all the way back to daggerfall. Number 1 reason was the water breathing but that really isn't a thing in ESO, but the increased swim speed is nice. Plus I really like the idea of having scales and a tail. I originally started as a templar but I didn't like that character as a healer so I turned him into a stam melee dps werewolf. I like that a lot. But as for healing I've found dragonknight to be particularly interesting to me because of its more "elemental" and "shamanistic" style. I feel like a much more powerful healer too as a dragonknight.

I have a Dunmer of all Classes, and of both Stam and Magicka. All Level 50. Working on a 3rd set of each class, for PvP only. Dunmer, of course.

I have 1 Imperial DK for RP and 1 Vampire Altmer Sorc (of clan Aundae) for RP, though I don't "actively" RP. Just thought it would be cool to have.

I like Dunmer because I loved Morrowind and I don't really care for the other races.

I picked, and have stuck with, the same race and 'class' I have played in every Scrolls game from Arena on up to Skyrim.

Dunmer heavy armor wearing thief with the ability to heal.

I suggest you play the class and race you enjoy the most and don't get caught in the whole fotm thing... Unless you just was to be a power player and don't particularly care that its an Elder Scrolls game.

Got all classes, one for magicka and stam. Love all of them dearly, but my favourite is an altmer sorc. She lived through high and low points of being a sorc, and still going strong. She's also my main crafter, so let me sing

Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.

V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.

    Where to start...

    50 Imperial magicka templar tank
    40 Breton magicka templar caster
50 Bosmer stamina templar 2H Sword / Bow
50 Breton magicka sorcerer caster (race change will be an Altmer)
50 Khajiit stamina sorcerer 2H Axe / Bow
50 Dunmer magicka dragon knight caster
21 Redguard magicka dragon knight tank
50 Khajiit stamina nightblade DW Dagger / Bow

The other 4 are mules, I won't list them as they may get deleted later for something else. I use max stamina characters for tanks while using a magicka build, it helps balance out their attributes a bit especially with the new stamina cost changes. I don't want to use any race more than twice, so I plan to change my Breton sorc to an Altmer so I can use Breton magicka nightblade caster; I'm just fickle like that.

Breton Magicka Nightblade is my main. Bretons are the first race I ever picked (TES II: Daggerfall) and I prefer to play as a Mage (Illusionist). He was a Sorcerer in the beginning, but Nightblade is a bit closer to the Illusionist concept so I eventually rerolled.

I also have a crafter created in the image of my main. He's aptly named "Phantasm of Tryxus"

I also made 2 other versions of him: a Stamina version, being more of an assassin than a mage. And a Dragonknight, since I love the class :p They're not Bretons tho, since I'd like them to be a bit viable too :p

A Saxhleel Templar tank/healer because I have always been a healing warrior in customizable universes, Saxhleel since elder scrolls 3, and we Saxhleel are efficient at healing.
My second is a Saxhleel Sorcerer critical damager because overload provides a bash that looks like a punch/elbow and I desire hand to hand combat. Plus we Saxhleel have ancient life liquid in us. Hist essence that gives us a natural magical vibe.

I made an Argonian Nightblade for the same reason. I'm still a little irritated that the race never got some kind of stealth-like passive. It would have made a lot of sense, and it would have also put stealthy in a race that wasn't in AD.

I tend to make a lot of Imperial characters. They have the most bonuses to resources and you can never have enough health and especially stamina, even as a magicka user.

As for classes, my mains are templar and nightblade, both magicka and healer and dd respectively. My nightblade was my first character, he started out as a stamblade, but I switched because I like the support the magblade offers to a group healingwise.
The magplar is a work in progress since I'm unfamiliar with the healing role; my (limited) main experience in MMOs is as a tank.

I think I like Imperials because I like to be a lil tanky.

My "main", who has succumbed to retired master crafter status now, is a Dark Elf magicka Templar Healer. I forget why dark elf, probably cause they can float between magicka and stamina pretty easy and i didn't know any better at the time.
I chose healer because i loved being a cleric in Neverwinter, it was such a fun class to play. I thought how much different could it be, i was so wrong lol. I loved being a healer in eso but its such a thankless job, if anything goes wrong blame the healer.
So taking what i learned on my journey to get my templar to vr16 i made a Breton magblade. Breton cause i'm a bit of a min/maxer, i hate altmer so that was not an option, and i wanted to go the opposite of a healer for something new.
I love this build! It is so much more fun than floating the fringe and healing. I used to love healing and now i don't even play my healer other than crafting in months. And the last 2 dlc's really fit the character back story i built in my head quite nicely.
There are other worlds than these.

I play khajiit NB. Khajiit because I love them, NB because when I started that was what was recomended to play for a khajiit. Then I decided to stick with it since it was fun and because I don't really want to level an alt with the terrible mount system (even though my current main was meant to be a crafter, it was about a week after I made her I decided to use her as main and demote my vampire NB to crafter)
