Night Blade for a Crappy Player

Gromgok
Gromgok
Hey guys,

I'm kind of pumped by the new rogue additions to TESO. However, I kind of suck at TESO solo PvE. I'm old and uncoordinated and slow. I have trouble with dodging.

Anyway, is there a NB dagger build that I could play that might work for an old timer like me? One that doesn't have to constantly reposition and dodge? Or is that contrary to the very mechanics of the game itself?

Any advice is appreciated, and the more detailed the better for this noob!

Thanks!

You seek a Magicka Nightblade build then. Wear some Heavy Armor for Shadow Barrier and rely on things like Sap Essence, Mass Hysteria, and Killer's Blade to get the job done all the while tanking the hits that come your way.

Yes. Dual Wielding has the highest base damage of all weapon types. You just won't find much use in the Dual Wield attacks lol

Focus on nb critical build, currently NB with crit build can out dps stamDK or souplar

Actually using Dual Weapons for the Passive bonuses is excellent if you are Magicka based, just don't learn/slot any of the actual attack skills for use.

Is there a detailed build I could find somewhere for a Magicka NB? I've got very little experience in the game so far.

Hey man, its all good, 99% of nightblades are crappy players. It's a class meant for crappy players, just like rogues in WoW and snipers in CoD.

You'll improve, keep at it. Go to tamrielfoundry.com forums for NB builds.

You should try Templar - they have designed it so that you DONT move.

Hmm, do Templars heal other players? I was kinda looking forward to trying a stealthy rogue type.

OP, you should try templars ( magicka version also)
Just use jabs/sweeps that it. You don't need to move like dodgeroll a lot and when the boss HP is low use Radiant destruction.

    The rotations for Magplar.
    Channel focus>entropy>toppling charge> puncturing sweeps> RD(low health only)

Get more Champion points and put 75 in thaumaturge.
    Weapons: Dual wielding.
    Armor: 5:1:1 or 6:1
5:1:1, 5 light, 1 medium and 1 heavy.( undaunted passive)
    6: light, 1 heavy.
    Karg set/julanious.
Get will power rings for spell damage.
    For stamplars
No idea!( of a good build)

Lastly, NB for magicka version uses a lot of rotations and stamina is all about burst.

Vampire Dunmer Magblade (Vanyalanthiriel)-DD.( PvE only)
    Bosmer Magplar (Vanimaista)-DD/heal.( PvP only)
    Breton Mag-tankblade (Vannvina)-Tank/DD. (PvE dungeons/trails)
    Van_0S- God of Tamriel.
Ebonheart Pact PC EU, Campaign- True Flame.

From what I've seen, newbie with speed buffs are more prone to deaths than without. I also know from the experience of trying to get up the stairs with speed buffed 60% mount and on foot xD

If you stick with DW use swords for more damage or daggers for the crit. Only put skill points in the last DW passive as it's the only one that you need (and all the others require use of DW skills).

For skills, you can't go past refreshing path, funnel health, siphoning attacks, sap essence, merciless resolve (think that's the magic one), impale, inner light (if you want more crit), cloak and concealed weapon.

5 heavy armor and 2 light for the passives and so you can tank those extra hits if that's what you're struggling with at the moment.

Only swords. Daggers won't do anything for a magics build

OK! So I can play a dual-dagger-wielding Templar, too? Can he take part in all the new thieves' guild quests? Are those open to any character type?

Thanks for all the help, guys!

None of the Questlines are restricted. You can literally be a Stendarr worshiping Templar Healer dressed in all white and still become an Assassin in the Dark Brotherhood. So you're fine with the Thieve's Guild.

You can do very well with a dw stamina build. Not at home right now but I will pm you my build if you like. It is very much the rogue archetype.

Why do Templars have to move less? I don't understand enough about the game yet to know this.

Also, is there the possibility of combining spear + shield, either as a Templar or NB?

If you're old and have trouble dodging (like me), put all of your points into health. Every, single, one. Then enchant all your gear with stamina (or magicka) to make up for it. Learn to weave light and heavy attacks.

A younger, more skilled player, may do better going 100% DPS. I need wiggle room. It has made a world of difference for me.

Edit: bread. steal it. eat it. often.

    Edit #2: block, block, block.

Edit #3: i should add that i am a redguard. as such, i have great stamina passives.
