Anyone else finding new patch update is incompatable with 64 bit??

As the title says, I downloaded patch, logged in all excited to wreak some carnage and save some poor wood elf maidens in peril from the local necromancer and his nefarious ways - only to find myself transported to 1995 with a game that renders worse than Oblivion and a 12ftp for added extra flavour.

Needless to say I noped the f-outta there fasten than a bad PUG wipe in WGT.

After fiddling around, it appears disabling 64 bit brings the game somewhat back to order - but tell me this is a joke???

Anyone have anything similar - or got any tips?? I will ticket ZOS but as a paid subscriber I am merely a silent blimp on their radar.

There is this thing that happened to some people where the 64-bit client was using the wrong video card on some peoples machines. Like the built - in one on the motherboard instead of your added discrete card.

Didn't have this issue but some other person may be able to lend you the solution, or of course customer support.

Thanks danno8 - sounds pretty much like exactly what happened to me.
I don't think anyone should ever have the misfortune of being subjected to the game being rendered by their in built v-card :D
Oh the horrors I have seen.

Here's hoping the ZOS gods will be kind.

    No problem.

Just a thought, on some systems (like mine) you can flat out disable the on-board card in the BIOS. This may force the 64-bit client to select the only other option left.

On my PC, in a similar case in another game, the executable was not detecting any graphics card after disabling the inbuilt card.

Yeah if laptop just right click the eso64 file and run with nvidia card etc. Works fine on my main lappy but when I try and run it on my little one it says something about granny2 dll....whatever that is, so sticking to 32bit on that for the moment.

Try this if your 64 Bit is loading on the CPU Graphics

    1. If you have a control panel for your video card, see if you can force the application to run on the 3D card. If your like me and don't run the control panel, then try:

    2. Go into Power Options for your machine and set your Graphics to High Performance. There maybe a few things you have to set to force the system to use the 3D Card instead of CPU Graphics

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Here's a more detailed fix for NVIDIA:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/2776933/#Comment_2776933

BUT, while this fixed issues in the past, with this update I am back to low frame rates, PLUS huge latency. That's all new. I'm guessing it's the patch but that's just a guess.

For me the frame rates are just a little lower than normal so long as I am not moving. But as soon as my character moves they drop. So maybe mid 50s not moving dropping into the 20s or even single digits when moving.

Thank you Greylox, Nestor and ContraTempo for great advice and how-tos on tackling this beast of a problem.

I do run a lappy with a NVIDIA card and it looks like that's the root of the problem for the rendering and display graphics, but the lag is still incrementally worse than prior to the patch which isn't helping.

Thanks everyone who left replies and advice you saved my day and I really appreciate it- now I can go and die happily in vMA with halfway decent renderings of what killed me :D

Hopefully if anyone else is experiencing the same issues all your replies will be helpful, like they were to me.
