Need help with Sorcerer Battlemage

I see a lot of discussion on here about end game pvp. Lets talk a bit about questing and mid to end game solo PVE.

So I am leveling my Sorcerer. He has hit level 50 and I am kind of torn. I have 160 Champion points.

I am torn in regards to weapon choice and playstyle. Currently my weapon skills are as follows:

Destruction 50
Two Handed 50
Sword and Shield 38
Dual Wield 27
Bow 10

I really enjoy playing with a staff. I leveled up two handed with him for the whole battlemage thing but it just feels clunky now. But at least I got him to 50 on that. What should be my next course of action? One Hand and Shield or Dual Wield?

Another choice is attributes and armor type. In this latest patch mages feel a bit more squishy. When I am in full plate set with good mana regen I seem to be doing fine. I survive much longer and dont really run out of mana (remember this is for solo questing including zone bosses). But I am torn because maybe I need to level up One Hand and Shield and Dual Wield, and if I do, I need as many of those skills on my action bar to level them up faster and I should most likely be wearing leather and go with a Stamina setup?

So the big question is, if I am having fun with Destruction, should I even bother with leveling up One Hand and Shield or Dual Wield at all? And if I do, do I go with light, medium or heavy armor and what should my attribute distribution be?

Any help would be great!

Is all anyone ever talks about here is PVP?

OK, I think I know the answer..
Dual Wield is really hard to dps on a sorc. I did it for 2 years, and now I'm done. The same applies for a 2h. no real usefull skills there unless you dedicate to stamina.

your easiest and most well supported and balanced option IS going to be:

    Destruction Staff:
crystal frags, velocious curse, mages wrath, crushing shock, entropy dawnbreaker of smiting

    Restoration Staff:
boundless storm, healing ward, inner light, streak, hardened ward meteor

This is the best end game setup to learn IMO

    Gear:
    3x willpower jewelry
the rest is up to you. I'd look at a 5 peice magnus on the cheap side. maybe fill in a kena helm shoulders or whatever

You have to put consideration into your racial passives too. Altmer make good magica sorcs because their passives boost them in magic, whereas a redguard sorc would make an excellent stam sorc.
