^This. @Vangy has the correct answer. Anyone who tells you that full medium is the best is wrong. Anyone who tells you that 5-pieces of medium and 1 each of light and heavy is the best is wrong. Anyone who tells you that 6 medium and 1 heavy is the best is wrong. The correct answer is that it depends on your build and your play style. It all depends on what you want for your build. Both groups of players are right cos its all very subjective and both perfectly viable.

I'd recommend 5/1/1 even for PvE since as a stamina build you're going to be in melee range all the time which is more dangerous. When you're dead, you do no damage and added tankiness from 5/1/1 is noticeable. Imo it also helps with sustain since being tankier allows you block less, especially in aoe situations.

How exactly are you more tanky in 5/1/1 than 7 medium.
As long as you do it the right way (ie. the heavy piece is the chest and the light piece is the waist) you also get quite significantly more resistance in 5/1/1 than in 7 medium. Armour isn't equal - in a 7 medium setup in all gold CP160 gear you're looking at 11,199 base physical & spell resistance (assuming no reinforced, no set bonuses to resistance, no champion points increasing it, but you've got all relevant armour passives), while in a 5/1/1 setup you're looking at 11,991 base physical & 12,354 spell resistance.RedFireDisco wrote: »leepalmer95 wrote: »I'd recommend 5/1/1 even for PvE since as a stamina build you're going to be in melee range all the time which is more dangerous. I believe that would be the 6% more health (4% Undaunted Mettle + 2% Heavy Armor Passive)
Armor would be roughly equal though

You also get 8% more stamina recovery and 6% stamina cost reduction by going 7 medium instead of 5-1-1. This for me tips the balance in favor of 7 medium. The real question here is ,, Is it better to have 4% more stamina or 3% more wep crit?" , because this is the difference in offensive between 5/1/1 and full medium. Imo there is many things deciding what is better but most important things are Your max stamina number, Your wep crit value and mundus You're using.
