I play on EU as well as NA, and still find it hard to believe that Craglorn is viewed as a top trading spot in EU - let it go already, no-one goes there except to farm mats.

Because people don't have to have a character over level 50 to go to Rawl. Craglorn is dead.

Rawl'ka gets 10 times the people than Crag, cus of its layout. Always crowded. I am on EU and still question why Crag is the top spot. Wayrest seems to be selling the most tho.

Because back when Craglorn was the only new content for over half a year Craglorn got way more traffic and when the traders were introduced those were the most coveted spots and now it has just stayed that way out of habit because all the players who actually use traders know that the best ones are in Craglorn and expect it. If they don't find their usual trading guild in Craglorn they won't start running around the world in search of it, they will just pick the one next to it.

Craglorn has hands down the best merchandise of all zones, even if the other zones are more traversed.

Well the best traders are in craglorn. And there is no way wayrest makes more money.

It just highlights the differences in activity between NA and EU servers - I play on both and I find the fact that Craglorn traders are considered the best on EU server as being a bit insane - on NA it is Rawl'kha, followed by Mournhold and Wayrest. Craglorn is not viewed as a top spot at all, and you can't sell to new players if your kiosk is in a vet-only area.

I am kind of fascinated by the differences, the other thing I notice is that although EU servers certainly seem to have higher population (more PvP campaigns and certainly appear to be busier at peak times, taking into account time zones), there seems to be less trading going on, and traders seem to have a lot less in stock than their NA counterparts.

As the GM of a trading guild on NA server, I do want to say that I find a thread trying to stir it up between guilds, no matter what server, is in poor taste. I am not sure what the OP was trying to achieve, but it doesn't come across very well to me.

and way back when it was always House Zar that was the top trading guild there with the best spot week after week...and where are they now?

due to all this sort of back-stabbing between guilds it has ceased to be..lets see if we can make those other guilds crash and burn too

In my opinion Craglorn traders are overestimated. And a lot of these guilstores are quite poor. Craglorn was interesting when it was released, but there is some anothers place with more peoples and very active trading like wayrest, Rawl'ka and many others.

Craglorn has the big selling trading guilds in EU (AT, TTM, TTG,...) those 3 are by far the best selling guilds anyway.

Only if you like paying 50% more for your stuff. In EU, Craglorn traders are consistently more competitive than Rawl'kha. The latter do have good stuff, it's just too expensive when there's cheaper options waiting for you in Belkarth.

Edit: those people that don't have lvl50 char won't bring the big sales anyway
Care to explain this in details?
On all my alts, no matter below or above lvl50, the biggest and quickest sales I have from raw mats. And these can be found on any level area and any level raw mats (even iron ores) are willingly purchased within minutes after bidding in store. Ofc for refining. Assuming you have many members in guild who sell raw mats, your guild takes thousands in fees no matter the lvl of seller. It's generally a mistake to assume that only lvls above 50 bring big sales to guild.
That's from my personal experience - all my 8 alts were harvesting and selling raw mats since the beginning.

Edit1: and btw I'm a member of big trading guild with trader in Rawl'kha - best trader location in entire game, in my opinion. The city is generally crowded so much that I have to wait a long time after logging, to let my PC load everyone :). Everything is so close. No need to run long distances between stable, bank, wayshrine, crafting stations and traders. All in one place and I love to make things there. I was in Craglorn few times, but probably travelled to traders only once - their prices were not the best according to MM (maybe now are better, I don't know) so I lost my interest for this hub forever, especially that traders are located in bad place imo - there are much better locations in main city where trader hub could be moved, eg. close to wayshrine.
And Rawl'kha was best trading hub for me even long time before I became a member of guild with trader there. I'd like to see in ESO more trading hubs like Rawl'kha and less like in Craglorn.

Edit2: I now think also, that I see in many traders that some sellers, either intentionally or by unfamiliarity of MM average, sell in prices so high that potential customer, seeing them, can loose interest in entire trader. It's thus important for officers or GM to frequently check the prices in store to prevent such situations. Otherwise they risk of loosing customers if they don't care what is happening in their shops :). At least I have such impressions that visiting a store I remember somehow that "this store has very high prices, I don't need to visit it again" so I subconsciously choose other traders next time :).
