BUG: Group Leader Can't Invite

At times, the group leader cannot invite a player. He/she sends an invite, but receives the error notice top right of the screen, "_____ has rejected your group invite". The intended recipient never sees an invite either. At first, I thought it might be tied to players with strange characters in their names, but it seems to be completely random. Occasionally, passing crown to someone else to invite and then passing crown back to the original group leader alleviates the problem, but not always. I've only had this happen this week to my knowledge.
For me, it was only a minor irritant when trying to group with friends or guildmates for a dungeon. However, just now it affected a raid leader in one of my guilds. He cannot invite anyone to group and if he joins a group and they attempt to pass him crown, it won't pass to him. This is downright gamebreaking and will cause PvPers and PvEers alike to leave the game if left unchecked. Grouping is quintessential to any multiplayer game.
Has anyone else experienced this bug? If so, do you know of any workarounds for the time being?
