Is it possible to maintain 60+ fps on PC?

Hello,
Is it possible to maintain 60+ fps on PC on this game at all moments (even when there are lots of movement)?

If yes how this is achievable?

the game is limited from 5 to 12 FPS in Cyrodiil, you might be able to get 60FPS if you uninstall the game, it might just be a rumor though

I stay at 60+ as long as I'm not in crowded cities. Or Cyrodiil and some dungeon instances. A friend of mine is normally pushing 80+ in quieter zones while she's solo grinding or just running about, but even she dips sub 40-50 in heavily populated instances, Cyro, and dungeons. I haven't heard of anyone that's always rockin 60+ no matter what.

60-80 most of the time, but crowded cities drop it to 35-40, and Cyrodiil is 15-20 at times.

I usually get just so so FPS in MMO's but I'm around 55-70 out in the open and around 50ish in crowded cities

yeah definitely, but if you are wondering because your GfX card isn't performing to expectation: This game is significantly more CPU than GPU heavy.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

A couple things i did recently that keeps me at 40fps/200 latency or better in cryodiil. And 80-100fps/ 80 latency in pve.

    1. Switched to 64 bit client.
    2. launched from file not launcher.
    3. set eso as high priority in my task manager
    4. turned off my ESET security and firewall.
    5. no background programs running except for TS.

I"ve had no more long load screens. And even in fights of 100+ i'm getting 25-40 fps.

    Ethernet. no wifi.

I am playing it on dual 1080s in SLI and even I can't maintain 60 FPS in cities.

My FPS in cities at 4K is about 40 FPS, at 1440p it's about 50 FPS and 1080p it's around 58 FPS and this is all with max settings.

This game is CPU bound, so even with monster GPU setups you will bottleneck far before the GPUs become an issue.

Maintain? No, because it will eventually rain and rain will *** your FPS in the ***.
It's a nice thought. Really, it is. But rain and other dense climate effects just aren't worth a severe drop in performance and I'd just as well see them gone and replaced with tangential, atmospheric weather. Dark clouds. Thunder and lightning.

The moment you realize the rain is ruining your frame rate, it's working against immersion instead of adding to it.

This isn't just an ESO problem, though. Precipitation dropping FPS is a problem in many, many games.

Unless I'm in Cyrodiil I can maintain 100+.

Every once in a blue moon some (snip) will have Mournhold full of ability effects and it'll hover around 50ish.

What about RAM...more or less of a bottleneck than CPU?, and do addon's impact FPS?

    My set up is:
    1gb GPU Radeon 6770
    8gb of RAM
    CPU is 3.4gb i7 2nd gen (maybe it's 3.2, can't recall)
    WiFi, currently the only option

when I first started, my settings were detected at high graphics. I brought them down from that, but still above medium settings...

I may spike toward 60 occasionally, but I'm more likely in the 20's-40's, but I frequently dip down to single digits <g>

with my setup above, what might be the most likely bottleneck(s)?

A different question then, anyone playing it on one of those new Broadwell-e 10 core CPUs?

Also, saying 'I get 80 fps' doesnt mean much if you dont say anything about resolution, gfx settings and your hardware.

There's some bug that was introduced after IC or TG (during some time I was away from the game) that made the game start skipping frames when more than a certain number of players are within draw distance. It doesn't matter if you can see them or not (for some reason)

The weirdest part is that it's more like the game still runs at 100 FPS, but every few frames it freezes for as long as it runs so it results in the screen "skipping" rather than a more organic performance problem. It's like the main thread of the program is getting blocked periodically.

To me this sounds like an issue with an add-on - I had one that did stuff like this and after I removed it, the issue was gone. Combat support add-ons could possibly do that, which are meant to give advice what has to be done next - they monitor the actions of all around to figure out, what advice to give in that moment. If a whole lot of players are around, this takes quite some time and might freeze the rest for a moment. That one I had said as well "dodge now" or "exploit now" when the combat action was out of my reach and I wasn't involved at all. This sounds like being related to you not seeing players but they still effect your performance.

Do you lot reckon the i7 3770 or i5 4590 would be better on eso? The single core performance is slightly higher with the i5 4590 but the i7 3770 has 4 extra threads :/
I'm currently using an i3 3220 and R9 270X 4gb and I'm planning to upgrade to one of those 2 cpus and a RX 480.

From my experience, the i7 is not really utilized by gaming software - I run an i5 therefore as my gaming computer and use the i7 for professional purposes.

No, it's the same with 0 addons.
I'm talking about why I go from 100FPS to 40FPS in cyrodiil.
I run the game on all ultra / all extras enabled and maxed with 4k resolution and it runs at 100 FPS at all times

The problem with it going to 40FPS happens even if I set everything to 'low', which is why I think it is not the problem it appears to be. I also have no problems maintaining this FPS in much higher polycount games with more intense rendering.

The instance where approaching a place with a zerg in cyrodiil drops your FPS, I was pointing out that half the time it is actually running at 100 FPS and half the time it is running at 0 FPS, i.e. every 2 - 3 frames it freezes for 2 - 3 frames

Edit: To be clear, the FPS counter in the bottom left of screen 'does' actually drop to 40 FPS in cyrodiil zergs; I can actually detect an enemy zerg before I see them because entering the area suddenly drops my FPS

i7 5820k - 32gm RAM - x2 4GB GTX970's and all watercooled running LAN isnt enough to play ESO sweet on Ultra settings. I disable all addons when i go in PvP and framerate and latency are through the roof. I basically live suburbs in a city where the internet speed is amazing.

I run resource manager, or i used to, to see what was bottlenecking me and couldnt see anything. GPU and RAM and CPU were all running average, same as with LAN.

Basically it's impossible to reach a fixed 60 fps on eso due to the poorly optimised game engine which can't use resources efficiently.

Do you run any gfx card related programs? This is exactly what was happening to me - turned out the culprit was Gigabyte's gfx card monitoring/fan control/OC utility running in the background.

    My specs are as follows:

    Intel i7-4930k 6-core CPU (6 physical, 12 logical) running at 4.5GHz.
    2x MSI GTX 1080s.
    16 GB DDR3 RAM.
Game is installed on a 1TB Samsung 840 EVO.

I play ESO at 4K with maximum settings and I average 35 FPS according to CAM which is unbelievable. I can max The Witcher 3 at 4K and maintain ~40 FPS average with a single GTX 1080 and ESO with a single 1080 I average around 25 FPS.

The level at which this game is CPU bound really boggles the mind. When I am at ~55 FPS in Mournhold my 1080s are at 45% utilisation (usually one around 55% and the other at 40%) but they can't push more FPS because core 1 on my CPU is crying "No more!" and is stuck at 100% load despite having some of the highest single-core performance among consumer desktop class CPUs.

With my setup the only game I cannot get a stable 60 FPS on at any resolution (1080p, 1440p or 4K) is ESO.
