Don't agonize over gear and CPs.
I know that it does not and will not feel like it while you are learning it, but the whole arena is all about the mechanics. After you complete it, and begin to get good at it, you will see this more and more.
Build a setup that works for you, and get in there and play it. Make tweaks and adjustments as you see fit and at your needs while you learn. As you wipe, you will learn more and more and more, and you will then figure out what works for you.
That is the best advice I can give.

Solo'd my first normal dungeon today and tbh was a bit of a struggle (spindleclutch) am I likely to fall over sobbing in vmsa?
