Massive frame rate issues, loading screens, etc. after DB patch

Dear ZOS,

please be aware that we PS4 players are experiencing massive frame rate drops and loading screens while moving throughout cities (or even empty zones).

I tried to sort out what might cause these effects, but I could not bring it down to a single factor.


It is really frustrating to need 4 minutes to get from the teleporter to the horse stable in grahtwood (3 loading screens inbetween)...


Is this a known issue and do you already have a planned timeline to address this issue?

    They broke the game. Lag is beyond unplayable right now, even PvE looks like a slideshow. Animations are desynchronized, stuttering, freezing of the game, long loading times, npc's not loading for minutes... It's really bad this update, isn't this stuff supposed to be tested in advance?

    Guess we have to wait 6 months for a fix, they dont even respond. Unsubbed.

    How disappointing. I started playing 3 weeks ago and was really enjoying it... now this. Looking forward to Skyrim remastered lol.

    sound issues are an absolute joke aswell as the loading screens, and being able to predict when you are actually going to get kicked by the server :#

    You should really change that message when a player gets kicked from "Please make sure you have a valid internet connection"

    to

    "Please excuse our crappy server"

    Lag is almost amusingly bad if it weren't so frustrating. And sound is off too. But mostly in towns/high pop areas. I say mostly though as can occur out it the middle of nowhere too...

    But did manage to kill Zunduwhatever in Orsinium yesterday (big thanks to the 3 other players who didn't give up) without any crashes except one moment towards the end & after much dying my screen froze. I think my howl of frustration/horror/anger scared it into working again .....but if that is happening to others without resuming quickly then that sucks.

    And none of this a problem before DB. (apart from me dying to world bosses - but am used to that)

    Last night I played in IC and it worked fine, but the rest of the game has major issues. How can it be that IC has no issues and the rest of the game does? Maybe the devs can have a look at it.

    Same problem here. Huge lag spikes and constant loading screens. Makes the game unplayable :neutral:

    I too have been experiencing frame rate issues and quest makers/npc's taking a lot longer to load. Such a buzz kill because all I want to do is play the dark brotherhood dlc that I paid for.

    Also I haven't found a group in the activity finder since before the patch.... Not one group. Such a bummer. Did PC experience this when DB released? And was it patched?

    At the beginning of the TG dlc we had the same crash/freeze/frame rate drop issue. It got patched but it makes me wonder if we get this issue with every dlc in the future?

    Exactly the same. It's ridiculous. I keep getting killed by invisible people as enemies won't even show until I'm half dead. (Can't attack something that's not there) but it can kill me. The loading screens are making me have an inner rage. Lol

    This will prolly be fixed during patch period this week. So be expecting the fix. This is also possibly serverload issues along with patch lag. Expect it to be here every patch for a week or 2 from now forward. This is the worst though. I will be waiting to purchase DLC's until fixed from hence forward. If I have to I'll stop playing kiss ESO goodbye and just play Black Desert Online.

    Has anyone done a clean reinstall? I don't want to have to do it, but the game runs so incredibly poorly in pvp right now that I literally cannot do anything. All of my skills go off a couple seconds late, I'm flying around everywhere thanks to gap closer weirdness, and it was not like this in past patches.

    All of the performance problems have compounded and gotten worse with every single patch. I keep trying to come back to the game after not playing much, but this makes it really difficult.

    Don't bother with reinstall! I have every problem I've seen posted, constant crashes, ridiculous lag, 3/4 minutes for npcs to load... Wonder round a corner to have to load again, black players, horrible frame rates. At first I thought it was my end as I couldn't see any acknowledgement anywhere from zos (not that there has even been an acknowledgment of half of these problems or on ps4 version) so I tried literally everything I could think of... Ending with a lengthy reinstall... Thay changes nothing. I have been pretty frustrated as I really wanted to get back into this game with the DB Dlc but I've almost given up now, logged in ever few hours the last couple of days to see if there any change and there hasn't been!

    Will give it till the end of the week and if nothings changed it will get ejected and boxed and my sub cancelled!

    To be honest, it would go a long long way for me personally just to see an announcement at the top 'acknowledging' that there's huge issues with consoles since the patch, they are working on it and will give an eta as soon as they can. At this point it's been like it since the patch so a week on Wednesday and I've seen one vague post in the xbox section to say they are aware of crashes, that's it.

    I've seen a lot of people saying they have unsubbed and I suspect that it may have been a different choice for many had they hit the forums and seen a notice at the top acknowledging it.

    ZOS, your burying your head in the sand.... There's way too many players for it to go away, the only thing that will, will be your money. I for one spend more than I should on your 'store' which won't happen if I'm not on the game.

    Yeah i gave them the benefit of the doubt too, plus when i scoured the forums and couldn't find anything from them acknowledging that there is big issues i figured it must be my end. I have way better than average internet (bt's fibre) and usually get around 75mps fairly constant but i moved my ps4 downstairs to a wired connection, set up ports on my router and re-configured everything else i could think that might make an issue and it made no change at all!!

    Unfortunately it's definitely their side and i can't see it being resolved any time soon which sucks. Just about to try it this morning, if no change I'm giving up the game and unsubbing! maybe ill try again in 6 months!

    I used to play WoW on pc and tbh everyone used to complain about the customer support but if you called you eventually got an answer, if you opened a ticket you got a human reply, such a shame the same can't be said for zenimax atm!

    Can't wait for Skyrim Remastered. As far as ESO goes I'm hoping for some frame rate fixes, wonder if we will see a performance increase with Scropio and Neo consoles?

    It would be really helpful it ZOS could at least officially acknowledge that there are severe issues with stability and performance (amongst other things like the group finder)...

    The amount of technical issues in this game is pretty comical. Good mmo but unplayable most of the time. Really disappointing

    Unfortunately no. The PC client is also having the SAME ISSUES with what consoles are experiencing. This is a Patch bug in the coding and I bet they are in panic trying to figure out a fix for PC, PS4 and X1
