Stamina Recovery?

I've dumped lots of CPs in stam recovery after the DB reset, I think it's at about 1200 when I played tonight.

I'm just not seeing it though! It recovers far slower than before the patch, when I had far fewer CP allocated here.

What's going on??

Have you tried putting some points into Warlord to reduce the cost of your abilities?

@Mic1007 about 47 cp in warlord and the stam recovery is about 13%.

Just don't feel right, maybe I messed up somewhere.

Some skill points were refunded for ZOS-changed skills after the DB patch ... going to assume you have that covered but wanted to post anyway as a double check.

I'm noticing a much slower recovery as well, in the same boat as you-more cp to drop into ones that use less and recover more also

I have around 1908 stam recov and it feels slower than when I had 1780. makes no sense, maybe there's a soft cap or something.

You are right, OP. All the recovery (Stam, Mag) is much slower now. Even with the same gear and skills and such.

I think the recovery is the same but the amount of Stamina we use for a fight has increased. I noticed with my Magicka Sorc that a typical fight left me with a lot less Magicka at the end then before the patch.

Resources are definitely an issue this patch, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. My stamplar hits hard, a lot harder than he used to, but man those abilities are crazy expensive. Even with 100 points into warlord and the rest in recovery. So I think that while your recovery is higher, the cost of the abilities you are using are also much higher. There's now somewhat of a separation between burst and sustain. Definitely going to take some getting used to.

    Direct from wrobel.

With the removal of Veteran Ranks we wanted ability costs to increase in a more reliable and understandable way. Veteran Ranks used a different calculation for ability cost increase from the level 1-50 experience. With this change, abilities now continue to increase their costs at the same linear pace. This also means cost reduction passives and gear should now return the values listed in the tooltips instead of using a more complex formula.
There are quite a few builds that generate a large number of resources and we expect some players will end up changing their current setup. While costs are higher, note that you can now get increased resource returns from heavy attacks that now scale their return as you gain Champion Points. Additionally, enchantments are now more powerful and restore more resources than they used to. There are also poisons which give you additional options for getting more resources.

Basically suck it up buttercup. He wants you to use heavy & light attacks, recovery enchantments, and poisons. Not sure why Zos is so hell bent on forcing people to use weapon attacks. It is clear they are forcing a new meta that forces weapon attacks versus just spamming class skills. This is not play the way you want as advertised. This is wrobels way of trying yo rebalance the damage scope creep he has created throughout the life of the game by forcing you to use recovery versus raw damage.

It sets up more clear distinctions between damage and sustain. You now have to work harder to survive if you want to hit like a truck. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I know the new damage output of some folks would wreak havoc if they didn't have to consciously manage resources. There are some guys out there who can burn the first VMA boss before he even teleports once and who can get 30 seconds on bloodspawn tests...

Everything cost about 15% more resources to do now. You are forced to use light and heavy attacks bow to keep fighting.

I agree. But the way they went about it was wrong. Forcing people to use weapon attacks or changing jewelry. You have a choice. You either replace your damage jewelry into recovery, in which case you hit like a wet noodle, or you keep your damage jewelry and start using weapon attacks which can fundamentally change your play style. And if you don't enjoy using weapon attacks then your forced to, to maintain your damage.

Yeah, I have also noticed a huge drop in sustain on my mag tank and stamblade. I could not get through VMA yesterday because I ran out of resources left, and right with the same gear setup as before along with the same skills set rotation on my toolbars!
