Hello all,

Just getting back into ESO and had a quick question.
Seeing as though several DLC's are out I would like to give them a try. My character level is currently 17. Could I play these DLC's such as Orsinium and Dark Brotherhood now (will level scale etc..) or should I just continue progressing through the faction areas and wait until 50 to play these?

Thanks for your advice

There are people that are power leveling/grinding from "the start" in Wrothgar(I forgot the minimum level, something around 10 or 15). You should be fine.

    It's up to you really.

Just keep in mind that if you go to the DLC zones you will gain XP there and possibly outlevel your normal zones. If that's ok with you, have fun wherever you want to go!

There's really no problem in leveling in DLC zones. I've even tested playing a brand new character stepping straight into the assassination business (Dark Brotherhood DLC) and I had no problems doing this STRAIGHT OUT OF COLDHARBOR. I make this point because you would not have legerdemain or thieves guild skills leveled up, which makes doing this more difficult, but certainly not impossible. I actually think if you want your character to be an assassin or a thief, this is a great way to start the character out and build them up. Go with what you enjoy, it should be fine.

Here is my argument against using the DLCs as leveling areas. You get full exp scaled to your character when doing DLC content and mobs. So, you would benefit more from doing that content later when your on the slower part of the Champ Point Curve. Use up the other legacy zones first until your at the point where you need 200,000 to 300,000 CPs to gain a Champ Point.

Also, at L17, you may not have enough skills unlocked to really enjoy the content, even though your battle scaled. Also, the scaling works better with better gear, and you probably won't have that at L17.

Its not that you can't do the DLCs at lower level, or even some of the content of the DLCs at a lower level, your just giving up nice fat exp gains that would otherwise get when your at a higher level and the legacy content is no longer giving you the full experience. Plus, if you go back and do the legacy content, you won't be getting as much exp in the same proportion as you would if you were closer to level.

Thieves Guild is one that you might want to do earlier than later, simply because the passives help with the Stealing and other Criminal Activities that you do in the game.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
