Graphics issue since the start of the console update

I'm posting this here as I am not getting any response on the technical forum and thought people might have some thoughts.
In the last two days that I have had 3 system crashes while playing the game - something that has only occurred once in the previous years I have owned this computer. By crashes, I mean the game completely freezes, the screen goes black, an error message pops up and the computer restarts. When I did a WhoCrashed test it indicates a driver issue - which has worked fine and continues to work fine in every other application or game. The report indicates (in short):
"Bug check description: This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed."
My driver is up to date, my power supply is fine, my operating temperatures are fine.
It just seems to coincidental that this problem happens within a very short time of the update/maintenance and the introduction of the console platform.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? this is becoming a game breaker for me as I can hardly play if the game is constantly crashing my computer.
