Couple of quest-related thoughts/questions wrt vet rank removal and One Tamriel announcement

OK so I bought some new character slots (the thing I had been saving up my crowns for and wanted above all else!) I know that at the moment there is not a lot of solid information, but would appreciate thoughts from others about these things.

Now playing a new character, wearing training gear, and looking at becoming overleveled for quests in my current zone, I like to do all the quests, and questing is my main way of leveling. Just thinking, if with One Tamriel all zones will be leveled/battle-scaled, am I best off just leaving a lot of side quests for the time being so that a) I don't get overleveled for main zone quests, and b) so that after One Tamriel release I can go back and do them at vet rank and earn CP? That would seem to make some sense.

My second question is more related to vet rank removal and relevant before One Tamriel - does anyone know the highest level that Molag Bal will scale to at the end of the main quest? I am at CP cap on my account, in the past with new characters I have tended to hit 50/VR1 near the beginning of Coldharbour, so am used to VR1 MB fight - will it now scale all the way to CP160 if my new character hits level 50 before that point?

Many thanks for any input, please feel free to discuss, as I feel these are different/more specific questions than the general discussions in the One Tamriel thread.

When an area scales to you because it's an instance it usually has no ceiling, just a floor. In other words he should be 50 CP160 like you.

I'm not sure, I think FG and MG scaling always topped out at VR10 even if you did them at VR16, hence the question (I never did MB fight after VR1 because I wanted to go to other alliance zones so don't know the answer to that particular one).

The last time I did FG and MG was with alts well below the minimum level lol but if they do cap at VR10 that would be due to the highest level for the alliance zones being that with Cadwell's Gold.

I'd say leave them cause training doesn't give you quest exp it gives NPC kill exp.

Question 1, yes, I would wait to do side quests with pre-49 characters for One Tamriel.

As far as Molag Bal level, he SHOULD level to the player, however, the last time I went through the Mage's Guild, the last level was 47, even though my character was VR3 at the time (pre-DB), so who knows?

he will scale to 50 160cp. I just finished him a couple days ago on my fishing alt in order to run some aspects of Caldwells while getting the fishing achievements in the other alliances and he was scaled to that.

Yep that's what I was thinking, training isn't going to be doing a thing for me if I am overleveled for quests and quest mobs, as the game is now. So I will do main zone quests to advance my new character along the story, and as many side quests as I need to do to keep 'on level' for the main zone quests. Then come back after One Tamriel launches to do side quests and get xp for combat then, when they are scaled.

Yes, that last MG quest has always annoyed me a bit, I like that it is one you can complete with other players (never personally saw the need for MG and FG quests to be forced-solo tbh, it is not a stretch to imagine that the FG and MG would assign more than 1 person to a mission), but if you leave it until after level 47, you get no combat xp which sucks. Presumably it will be scaled after One Tamriel, so less of an issue.

Thank you, that's answered that question without any doubt :)

Regarding One Tamriel, with everything being battle-levelled, I'm assuming "overlevelling" will no longer be a thing. You won't be able to over-level because the scaling will mean your level always matches the content level.
