Cosmetic Armor

I realize the community divides into two parts on this subject: those who care about cosmetic appearance and those who don't. If you don't care, that's fine; this thread is intended for those of us who believe accessorizing matters in MMOs.

Here's my wish list:

1) A cosmetic armor tab such as they already have in games like Rift and LoTRO. In several cases, the tier one and two stuff looks much better than the sets that replace it.

2) Dyable weapons (I realize this is coming...some day). Until then, lose the shiny red metallic color I'm forced to use with my CH160 gear. It clashes.

3) Get rid of the hip flaps, I'm not a medieval Japanese Samurai. At least for the light and medium pieces.

4) Make a toggle to show/hide shoulders and gloves. Most of the light armor looks better without.

5) Costumes should be dyable with a single primary/secondary/tertiary color palette for the whole ensemble.

6) race-specific undergarments to replace that generic black placeholder thing.

7) Any bearded Nord who equips the wedding dress costume should take a 10% hit against health and stamina.

I may be kidding about number 7...

Pretty sure dyeable costumes are happening Soon™.

As far as cosmetics go, anchoring shields to my arm more efficiently would be dope. My tank's shield just kind of... floats above her arm, despite there very clearly being straps to hold on to.

    Lusty Argonians don't wear underwear.

I just wish that their would be a preview of what the armor would look like on a char before crafting it. That little picture doesn't help.
Also preview what the armor would look like that you buy from a merchant or guild trader.

Zenimax said they don't plan to make costumes dyeable. If they took that back then I wasn't around when they said it lol

Yes please! All of them, please.

(Apart from 7 - I think Beardy Nords should be allowed to wear wedding dresses if they like. ;) )

(Actually, I don't mind about the undies either...)

It's not going to happen, not with the direction they've taken outfits in the game, and more importantly, added them as significant part of the Crown Store.

The best we could hope for I think is a Crown Store Item that would give us the one-off option to convert our character's currently equipped armour into a costume that would be added to , and have the functionality of, the other Costumes we've collected.
If you can be anything, be kind.

I would actually be totally okay with that.

Argh! I swore I read a comment somewhere where someone said they were working on it. I could be mistaken, though. Or maybe I'm thinking of dyeable weapons. If I find a source, I'll be glad to post it, until then, it's entirely possible I imagined/confused it with something else.

    Do you not?

I hear that's what they wear... when they bother to wear anything.

    I accidentally walked in on some RP the other night ;_;

I discovered something about light gloves. I got bugged when they ruined the lines of light shirts, too. I bought Ancient Elf at console transfer and the light gloves are just that, short and on the hands only. I had to buy some Palladium, too but I like the armor and love the short gloves. I also tend to use Breton shoulder epaulets
Scura di Notte - Altmer Nightblade (gear)
Lalin del Sombra - Bosmer Sorcerer (alchemy/enchanting)
    Angevin Sarkany - Bosmer Dragonknight
Alkemene Velothi - Dunmer Warden (Morrowind)
Sanna yos'Phalen - Altmer Sorcerer (provisioning)
    Cosima di Mattina -Altmer Sorcerer
    Naria Andrano - Dunmer Templar
Luca della Serata - Redguard Templar

Funny, I have been thinking about this since the DB patch. Once I hit 160 cp points, I loosing any motivation to play that character. And after I level up the next guy, not really sure what I want to do.

Reason being is I want to wear gear with the motif I want. And I realized doing dungeons and even the DLC, I'm completely ignoring the gear drops. I like getting better gear, but not if I can't change the way it looks.

Sure I can craft gear that I want, but again, what would be the point in running dungeons? I know there are other reasons, but for me the driving force is getting gear that looks better....and if it's better then bonus!!!

So for me, I would like either of these options.

    1. A transmog thingy like WoW has. I can make any gear I pick look like something that I personally have on my or in my bank. That's fine.

    2. A better option for me is to just be able to right click an item and convert to any known motif that particular character knows just like I can for converting to Imperial. I think it would be fair to use one of the motif items as well like use one of my Laurels when converting something to Mercenary.
