I already seen the leaked data a while back. So I knew it was coming. Just didn't want to take the chance of having to wait months before the reskin.

You know we really don't have much of a right to complain over this. Doesn't WoW have mounts that cost $100 and people still bought those?

Please explain to me then how and why they used a cow's sound file instead of a wolf's, as per the comment I quoted.

If you are such an expert, please enlighten us which animal they used for the wolf howls.

The only problem I see with those wolves (and lion mount as well) is that they're a bit... Dont know how to say that... Too cute? I expected fantasy direwolves to look more ferocious (something like this maybe), and that one looks too friendly, like a labrador or retriever. But maybe that's just me.
I dont get complaints about selling these mounts in crown store, to be honest. They have the same stats as the basic brown horse, after all, and dont change anything gameplay-wise.

No. Warcraft shop mounts cost around $US25. I cannot recall ever seeing a mount much more than that. (The Warforged Nightmare was a few dollars more).

No, what obviously happened was that the animators did this great animation and then told the sound designer to find a wolf sound to fit it. The sound designer couldn't find one that fit within the timestamp of the animation, and so they truncated the audio file to fit the animation. This resulted in the end of the howl being cut off. I'm not 100% sure if they didn't slow it down too, which lowered the pitch, making it more moo-like.

Honestly? If the sound designer had just done a fake wolf howl themselves to fit within the duration of the animation, it would have sounded better.

The wolf howls of the NPC's in the game are great. The wolf howl of the expensive mount that we paid for? Horrible.

The normal mounts are to me the most interesting. This is precisely why I only got the standard camel. I'll be happy with the standard wolf as well. I did get the Tesselated Guar, and the Pale Guar (Hello Rollie) as well as the magical shiny horse (Frost Mare). The reason I purchased these more unusual mounts though is that there is a place in TES for them. The Guars have their way for argonians/dunmer. The Frost Mare really felt perfect for a mage character (one who speaks with Shalidor and saves the life of Vanus Galerion). The point is I only get something if I actually want it. I was never interested in the lioness, or a number of the other cat mounts, particularly when my Tiger mount came for loyalty reward. Those all felt too much alike. I ended up getting the Pride Lion mount though. Its all personal taste.

def agree on the wolf howl ... its a little TOO bassy for a wolf ... if they made it a little higher in pitch it would sound right ... its just too low sounding... other than that i love the mount
