Gold Coast Rare Fish - Ghastly Batfish?

I have all the rare fish in Gold Coast except this one....never normally take this much to get a rare fish in the past for me but this one....
500-600 fish later and many many hours fishing.....still nothing....20-30 greens....still no rare blue for foul water....
Starting to think its a bug or my luck has finally ran out? Anyone else had any issues getting this fish?

...looks like there are 3 river fishes there and even after i complete all achievements except blackest sacrament i still couldn't find it

While I got the Gold Coast ones fairly quickly, I've definitely had this issue in more than one zone as a Master Angler x 1.5. The worst one was getting the Ice Remora in Eastmarch. I must have spent the better part of a month trying to get it the first time around.Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

Smileybones is right, it's just RNG. Ghastly Batfish was my last fish too. I wound up by chance fishing with @Asayre when I got mine. I got all the foul rares in about an hour with us fishing the same holes. I don't know how he fared, He might be like you, still looking for that Ghastly Batfish. On the positive side for you, crawlers are an easy bait to get, and there are a lot of foul waters holes all in the same area. GL

AmberLaTerra✭✭✭✭it is pure dumb luck. I got all 3 foul water rares (both green and the blue) from one hole, but have gone over 800 bait without the blue lake fish in greenshade now.

✭Yeah, it's just ZOS trademark RNG crap. I got the Ghastly Batfish from my third Foul Water hole. The only blue in Gold Coast I have - not that I really have tried to catch them all. Only fished about 10 or so holes so far.
For another example of the stupidity of the fishing system, and the aggravation it's reliance on RNG can 'cause, take my experience of fishing in the IC: After couple of thousand lures, I have all the IC fish except one green. I have caught all the blues at least a half a dozen times. I have caught many of the greens more times than there are different rare fish in IC. Yet I am still missing one green. In the end I got so fed up with it, that I gave up and moved on.0 -

I didn't realize certain fish are only caught in certain water. Is there a list somewhere that would tell me which fish come out of certain water for the Gold Coast? Google hasn't helped. I'm in the Gold Coast and need two fish to complete the angler achievement in this area. I didn't realize certain fish are only caught in certain water. Is there a list somewhere that would tell me which fish come out of certain water for the Gold Coast? Google hasn't helped. Thanks
If you look closely at the description of the fish you catch, it tells you what water type they are from.
The fishing basics: There are four water types; Ocean, River, Lake, Foul.
