Why do I get notification from a forum thread I haven't participated in or even used those "likes"? Anyone have this happen to them lately or have an idea for what setting on forum account that might trigger this kind of behaviour?

This thread popped up as a notification: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/271249/monk-class-and-hand-to-hand-skill-line-concept/p1

Not a big issue.Sometimes things happen. It's not like it is s ome kind of warning or anything. I'd just ignore it.

You could have starred it by mistake while trying to click something else especially on mobile, check your profile for favorites

Also look for solid yellow star on right side of post title, if it's there you will be notified

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Thanks! Looks like it have been bookmarked without me noticing it. Anyway now I know where to look in the future when I get notification on threads that I don't recognize have read before or have been active in anyway. :-)

I have done this before too. Watch out that you don't accidentally hit a really popular thread.... I've come back to a 10+ notification list because of that

It is an issue when a thread have many people posting in it and you get a notification for each new post while reading something else on your cell or even on your computer as it make every other post that you might actually have an interest to follow up much harder to see.

Don't understand why ZoS/ESO haven't made it only show just one notification until you visit that forum thread again or do any activity in it. Other sites have that kind of feature so it shouldn't be too hard to implement her too. Ten notification or more about the same thread is not very useful information in my opinion, if you are active in several forums here on ESO or keep tags on forum threads which interest you.
