Questions for PC DB players.

Since DB is coming out next week for console, can some PC players explain a few things that are unclear from the patch notes?

What items should we be saving or dumping and why?

Is there any advantage to leveling a character up to 50 before the launch rather than after?

Is there anything else we should know to prepare that you wish you had known prior to PC launch?

Thanks in advance!

(No offense, but please leave out all the QQ about classes, etc. Just the facts, Ma'am.)

People seemed to think that leveling to 50 before was an advantage, something about the diminishing returns on xp with the DB patch. Honestly, I don't think it would matter if you are doing content at your level. My alt was 46 at launch and I got to 50 pretty easily just questing in cold harbor.

-what to save and what to dumb depends upon if you'll be at or above CP160 and if all characters are 50+
I'd say keep everything and don't dumb anything but do collect the highest materials of you craft for your current VR level as well as your future CP tier

-there is no advantage of leveling up now or later as the level 1-49 game remains unchanged.

-your CPs will reset so be sure to reallocate them. And skill/stat respects are only 1gp initially

Something that should be mentioned is that, if you don't already have a character at v16, try to do so. You get an additional 2.5 CP per veteran rank on your highest level character. E.g. If you have a v16 character, you'll get an extra 40 CP when DB hits, v12 will get 30, etc.

Actually the skill/morph respect was not 1gp, but was minimal (like in the hundreds) so very cheap. Attribute respect did not change, still 3K or something like that. CP reset is same as well, as they are all removed.

Thank you @emily3989 . That helps. I'll just play my normal toons then instead of trying to power level the ones under 50.

Hi, sorry if this is a dumb Question, but if you are VET16 do you keep the CP you have now, or do we get reset to the 160 CP plus the 40 CP extra for being VEt 16. Right now I have 285 CP.

    TIA

I believe you keep all your CP and get an additional 40 on top of that if you have a V16. Am I right about this?

You keep your current skill points, and receive the bonus that I was talking about. The reset that others were talking about just means that everything in your CP constellations needs to be reallocated. They basically gave you a free reset for CP.

You will absolutely not lose CP/progress.

You'll be at 325 CP when DB hits.

Correct, @pilsbury65 will have 325 CP when DB rolls out. As stated, all CP are reset and have to be reallocated.

As for what to dump, it will vary. Players with 160 CP will never need to craft with any of the mats that used to fall in the v1-v14 ranks, since all alts will be at max CP as soon as they reach level 50. If you have a crafting bag, you can basically sit on those mats. They won't take up space and perhaps they will be rare and expensive in the future, perhaps not. If you have a sub, prepare to be amazed at all the bag space you suddenly have due to craft bag. If you craft at all, and you don't have a sub, you are missing out. It's the best thing they ever did for the inventory system. To access the craft bag, line up on Inventory and use LT/RT buttons to switch, much like changing from weapons to armor at a craft station.

Yeah, I'm a crafter in all professions, and my bank and crafting character's inventory space definitely showed this. Now though, I have absolutely no idea what to do with all that space haha. Maybe start an equipment set collection?

Yeah, I think I'm resubbing upon launch of DB. Just for the space alone, really. Thanks for the additional point.

Also, can someone point to a link that describes in detail the new poison system. I realize it's not a great as everyone thought it would be, but I'm more into the crafting. I just want to know which shrooms I should be picking up (which I usually ignore currently) for the future poisons.

Thanks for all the cool replies. Good to see a thread without any salt.

I started DB with a lvl 6 alt, who is now lvl 9. I'm not sure if I want to send my main (my only CP) in that direction yet. Due to the scaling and no doubt the benefit of CP from my main, he has survived pretty well, though fights do take longer to get through. The only drawback I've noticed so far is that, in the Litany of Blood, some of the targets are in Silver and Gold zones, which I won't be able to get to for a while. Had I started with my vet, I'd be able to complete the quest much more quickly, but this alt will have to wait until he's 50, I think, to be able to go there.

That being said, I don't know if there's some sort of workaround in progress, like when teleported into a kill location by the listener, but then I suspect I'd find myself in a silver or gold zone, with an un-scaled lvl 9. O.o

*edit: By the speaker, not the listener.

I have a question what happens with the skills points you would get with going through the vet ranks will I get those 16 skill points on my alts who are level 50 or will lose those forever.

I didn't do the math, but I did have extra skill and attribute points on my lower level alts. I'm afraid I didn't look closely enough, at my vet, to see whether there were more.

    @Jaronking

You get bonus skill points at every level 1-50 that ends in a '5' or '0' (I believe it's an extra point for every '5' and two extra for each '0')
