Absurd lag today?

My ping is usually around 170-210, so I never really get too much lag. Outside cyrodiil and world bosses that is (love being punished for doing group content). Today however, when I logged in this morning, I got 500-8000 ping spikes all the time. It even kicked me out of the game at times. I tried restarting my modem without any luck. I just got home 6 hours after my first attempt to play, and I still get latency spikes.
Am I alone in this today?
