Wow, great work on the 64-bit client!

I really like the idea of 64bit, especially the presence of sound during trials and such, but -- and I don't know if others have this problem -- the 64bit crashes my game a lot. On 32bit I never crash, so it has to do with 64bit, no doubt. I'll take a worse framerate and no sound over constant crashes, since I'd rather not be booted during vMSA, dungeons and trials.

Hopefully soon the 64bit will be completely bug free and they will include it in the actual launcher.

So I just upgraded my operating system from windows 7 to Windows 10 (I actually did a clean install). Prior to this and todays patch I could right click on the eso64.exe and run the client in 64bit. When I try to do this today I get an error message in windows:

application is unable to start correctly (0xc0000076).

Is anyone else having this issue?

I'm having the same exact error after upgrading from 7 to 10 also a fresh install of windows onto a new hard drive and fresh install of eso onto a different hard drive :( was looking forward to trying it.

This is the fix. Thx to Reevster.

You actually "downgraded" windows. ;) Now you need more RAM.

Actually, this is very much an upgrade, so please stop disseminating incorrect information. Since installing Windows 10 I find my computer boots far faster, uses less RAM and is far more responsive. The game itself has increased by around 10fps. As far as RAM is concerned I already have 8GB of DDR3 RAM and 4GB on my Graphics card. I have the setting for ESO maxed and I never use more than around 50% of my available RAM. I am very happy with the responsiveness of the game especially running the 64-bit client :)

hrmm downloaded the file it went into my eso file dont see the 64bit icon now?

After many days and dozens of hours I can confirm the 64-bit client is production-worthy, for me anyway. Windows 7 or Windows 10, makes essentially zero difference (in FPS or stability).

No sound issues and since I set my video card to stock clock speed for ESO, no crashes.

Plus FPS is definitely improved since Dark Brotherhood.

    Very nice.

I had one game freeze yesterday (task manager says "inactive"), but otherwise it is stable with good performance, I still had twice login issues, where "requesting character load" gets stuck (task manager does not say "inactive", it is just in an endless loop) and never connects to the world. Both were after having changed characters a couple of times.

Glad it worked out for you. My "upgrade" broke a few things -- including my NVIDIA graphics and SoundBlaster sound, both of which are very common hardware -- for which I had to go find fixes. ShadowPlay still does not work and the issue seems to be with Win10 functions walking on it. On the performance side I have noticed zero difference between Win10 and WIn 8.1, either good or bad. The only plus so far is that Win 10 did give me a video capture utility, though that only replaces the ShadowPlay functionality they broke (which is probably why it broke). Hard to call that a win.

Thanks for this post! I quit using the 64 bit because the audio problems were so horrible, but I will give it a try today. Maybe it will solve the crashing issue I've been having since the last patch.

You really should. I am frankly amazed by the huge performance jump this patch. They said they did things to increase PC performance, and they weren't kidding.

The 64 client is pure bliss now. Ready for adding to the launcher as a defaultable option.

    As for Windows 10...

I have played on both Windows 10 and Windows 7 and find ZERO performance difference. 99% of gaming sites have had the same results, as a quick Google search will show.

But hey, if it seems faster to you, that's awesome. But if I were on the fence about getting Windows 10, I certainly wouldn't be pushed over the edge by promises of performance improvements, which are 99% hardware and 3rd party drivers.

I am waiting for DirectX 12 games, and being able to afford a DX12 card, before I even consider using 10 full time.

I've never encountered any more of the static sound and inappropriate sound being played (last time I heard screams of agony for every step I took; maybe my toon had a thorn stuck in the foot  ). Also, no crash whatsoever, so I guess everything's good to go.

Do you uninstall and reinstall or what? How do you get 64 bit?

The 64-bit version of the game client should be in the same folder as the 32-bit one (../Elder Scrolls Online/Game/Client). Right now you have to open it manually (no launcher). If you don't have the 64bit client in the folder, something's probably wrong with your installation or patch.

My experience with the 64-bit client is now a pleasant one - i had none of the former issues in the last time. Works like intended to me currently, what makes gameplay really nice, I can focus on playing the game rather than on workarounds.
