How to use poisons?

I know some you equip in the slot with your weapon for it to apply, but on the sacrament quest where you can't alert anyone, how do you kill the target with poison without battling them and getting an alert strike? Is there a throwable poison I am not seeing?

It doesn't count as alarm.
Also poison abilites like the new dk morphs counts as poison.

You aren't answering my question. Besides the poison I use on my weapon (my normal weapon), how is there another kind of poison I use to kill someone? The poison I put on my normal weapon (example: Staff) just does DPS damage. Which would require me to attack someone normally... and counts towards alarm.

What is the name of the other kind of poison that will kill the enemy without me having to actually fight them?

I know I am sounding really stupid here, I just don't understand this poison thing. I copy youtube videos and still fail.

If you use the Blade of Woe synergy with a weapon bar that is coated in poison, it counts as using poison to kill the target

Sneak in and target the bottle on the counter.The poison will go right in it.
