Hi,
Since i had enough interest, I have decided to post my Sorc Battle Mage Build for the Dark Brotherhood Update to try and throw Sorc's a Bone in PVP.
This is not a PVE build its a PVP build. I have had some fun with it, and its fun to play a Battle Mage style. In the hands of a skilled player its a very powerful build. I hope you like it, if you don't like it thats fine. In that case i hope you find something that works for you. This isn't your cookie cutter Sorc and it has a bit of a different playstyle and learning curve to get used top, even I am still getting used to it, but i thought it was a lot of fun.

Going to add, I have liked using 5pc Armor Master, although if you arent comfortable with the less sustain then it might not be for you.
The 5pc bonus on AM syngergizes nicely with use of dampen magic on your SB bar, and if you run empowered on your 2nd bar.
The heal from the pet is nice, and itll negate people running shield breaker.
Good job Rinaldo, now well see a bunch of battlemage clones running around!0 -

✭oh and the build does work fine in most PvE content, just dont run trials with it.
Ive run some dungeons, questing, grinding, etc with the build and its fine...just nothing that requires a benchmark dps. its nice having a build and not needing to respec when switching between pvp and pve.1 -

I believe you, but I have no desire to spend any time in IC at all. If I want Black Rose in impen I'm sure I can make a deal with a guildie who loves farming in IC. I would like to try it on my PvE tank but the lockbox grind to get good traits is just stupid.
I was considering something like 4 piece Oblivion's Foe, 2 piece Bloodspawn or Lord Warden paired with one of the magicka sets with jewelry like 4 piece Vicious Death and 2 piece Torug's Pact. S&B and Resto. Keep Unstoppable, Boundless Storm and Defense Stance up and run spell power pots.
TBS or Clever Alchemist are also possibilities, but Black Rose is probably a better set for regen at this point than my idea. Did they update Storm Knight? I don't think so, but it certainly would have good synergy with a heavy armor sorc.

✭✭✭✭✭I've read that Black Rose gives you around the equivalent of 250 additional regen of both stamina and magicka. If this is true, you could accomplish similar results by substituting the (easily crafted) 5 piece Willow's Path set for Black Rose. You would lose the 2, 3, and 4 piece stat bonuses, but you would gain better regen when not being hit.#CAREBEARMASTERRACE0 -

I only PvP and harvest mats on my sorc. I really don't PvE much anymore on any characters; I have little interest in the last two DLCs and my PvE tank build also has to be completely redone after this patch if I want to do trials again. This was not a happy patch for me.
Correction: Right now I PvP on my templar. My templar does everything better than my sorc except for mobility. And my magicka DK is more fun to play and I wouldn't mind coming up with a PvP for her, too. So I will get those two sorted out before I craft or grind a thing for my sorc.0 -

It's not bad, it's a heavy armor pet build. Low damage, depends on pets for DPS and heals. It's nice and will hopefully work for a lot of people.
I'm not playing that though, I can't abide pets. In real PVP they are dumber than rocks, if you stun a pet and then LOS for a second, they 'forget' about you basically.

I'm sure this is fine in big groups, but solo? Most nightblades can can take this apart in five seconds.
* 32K Magicka and 2400 spell damage means your frags hits like a wet noodle.
* LOL pets. Stun and LOS one and they sort of 'forget' where the enemy is. They're dumb as rocks. Greater Atronach doesn't even move, just walk away from it.
* That 'healing clanfear' can be two-shot easily (hey, but not one shot anymore!), and you can bet a good enemy won't let you recast it. I wouldn't.
I'm happy if some of you can make this work, but it's not for me. None of the people I duel or fight against would let me survive in this.

I don't need my elite friends to laugh at this, I fought a heavy armor pet build last night and destroyed it. It probably wasn't exactly this build, but close enough.
I Mined up and LOS'ed the brain dead useless clanfear, then killed off the sorc in a couple of shots with 42K Magicka, 3800 spell damage, and stacked armor pen.
Any other build would have beat me. I was (stupidly) repairing a wall from the outside when she opened up on me FFS. I lost her pets behind a rock, because a Rock is smarter than ZOS AI programming.
Later, I fought two other multi-pet builds last night on Azuras. 36K Magicka. 1300 regen. Same spell damage, slightly less armor pen, and no shattering CP. It was the exact same story every time. One fight I got four or five enemy pets to waste their time fighting a storm atronach, while I laughed and killed both of their masters. The pet AI is baaaaaaaaaad.
If this build works for you, great. I'm glad. I take offense to the idea that this build 'fixes' what's wrong with the sorc class, and that we're just scared to try new things. Forget pets.2 -

✭✭✭✭✭Interesting build. I'm thinking of tanking up my stamina sorc for the next update too, so I'll just have to wait and see what comes of it. Meanwhile all the "elite" players will wait for the next cookie cutter "meta" to copy skill for skill so that they can continue to tout their "skills".
