New Spell damage enchants for weapons?

Ok so I'm still on xbox, are these really a thing? Similar to the weapon damage enchants, also is it worth it?

Oh and to make such an enchant do I need a new type of essence rune?
Thanks.

I'm talking about putting a spell damage on a staff etc. Similar to WD on a sword etc.

This phrase isn't that helpful and you might want to expand it a little more ... as the OP is asking for spell damage enchant (which did exist for jewelry and now for weapons). Magic damage glyphs do exist for weapons and return resources.

Nirnhoned does increase spell penetration, yes, but is a weapon trait.

OP, the UESP does a pretty good job of listing the types of enchantments (not updated yet for CP but soon) -- link:

The rune is the old weapon damage one for weapons, just it increases weapon and spell damage for 5 seconds now.

The current weapon damage glyph for weapons now also increases spell damage with DB. Anyone mentioning Nirnhoned needs to learn enchantment =/= trait. The Nirnhoned trait now increases the damage value of that weapon, like how Reinforced increases armor value of that piece.

Yes, it's a thing now. when you make a "weapon damage" glyph; it will have both "spell damage" and "weapon damage" on it.

Yea I'm talking spell damage as an enchant not on jewellery but on weapons (staffs).

I know weapon damage enchants exist already but I heard people mention that spell damage exists now for staffs (ie put 200 spell damage enchants on staff instead of deals 900 shock emchant.)

My question is do they exist? And also do they require new essence runes - in the DB update.

Yes. And infused trait increases potency and decreases cooldown of proc, although sharpened is still better for pvp cos 5k spell pen.

There are a LOT of truly viable enchants now for anyone knowing how to weave.
Makes Torugs with 5pc plus infused weapon REALLY NICE says my dunmer dedtro templar.

Also good arevthe FEEDERS that do mag and feed back health or stam or mag. Somevfolks having trouble with sustsin given cost increases but getting the new returns back is nice.

A LOT of options and easily changeable, so not expensive to experiment.

Folks were all gaga over poisons but me, enchants.

A couple of my chars will use some poisons sure but most focusing on enchants.

I was wondering... how good are those on stam builds? Do they compare favorably to regular fire enchants, or poisons?

Nirnhoned does increase spell penetration, yes, but is a weapon trait.

@Taleof2Cities Actually, it increases damage. It got changed with the DB patch so now it's just a % weapon damage up. I don't know if that actually affects both spell and weapon damage, if it raises your total weapon damage by that percent, or if it simply raises the weapon's damage value. I just haven't experimented with it since the patch hit. But... sooner or later I will, since I've now got two new V16s who need gear.

Increases the WEAPONS Damage (not Weapon Damage).

Well, since ZoS broke weaving does that mean weapon enchants arent viable anymore?

Do crafters sell these Glyphs? I've neglected my Enchanting completely and these sound like I've been missing out on an integral part of this game...

@ArchMikem you need Glpyhs for sure man.every bit of armour, each weopon. Yep crafters will sell them if you join a good guild and ask. Or lower power glpyhs for sale at the vendors. Or collect runes and make your own but if you are high level it may take a while to level to craft up to what you need. But aye, deffo get using them!

This enchantment glyph doesn't work with Force Pulse, it's bugged, (while other enchant glyphs such as Shock damage glyph procs with Force Pulse), as I posted here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/3239186#Comment_3239186 (and thanks for the SS of the glyph, @Meshal, I use it on my thread)

I don't want to use light/heavy so I can have this buff...
